I know that that was a big loss and a bad performance but people seem to be taking it extra bad.

Your post is irrelevant. You've just been slam dunked by an injury ravaged Cas side at home. Haven't won an away game since September and lay at the foot of the league. I was brought up on Cas being the biggest derby, Bradford were pretty dire in the 80s (not that we were great) and meant nothing to me really until they turned into the Bulls mid 90s.

No way that the Hull KR performance was more embarrassing, i mean, live on TV in a stand alone fixture having 50 points rammed down your throat by your local rivals at Home...doesn't get much worse really.

Annoyed with Leeds but not any moreso than usual - Castleford were fantastic, if they had finished all that they started it could have been seventy +. Glad the match was televised allowing those fans unable to get there (well done to those that made it) the opportunity to witness an historic night.

Hull KR were still going to finish bottom (lost their next game 0-40 V Les Catalans), some Leeds fans were still happy to accept the BS lines about loss of 1st choice training, Leeds injuries being worse than any other sporting team since the big bang (but they'd all be back) and how top 4 was still the realistic target - while they themselves were discussing whether they'd rather win the Challenge Cup or finish in the top 8, seemingly oblivious to the on-field performances which appeared likely to deny any such choice.

Perhaps now they've awoken to what is actually being served up out there.

As others have said, to a certain generation (mine) the main local derby is Cas not Bradford. To another generation it'll be Hunslet.

However last night's loss wasn't particularly bad because it was Cas, it was particularly bad because it was bad.

Our performance was woeful , the defence truly shocking,never the less full credit to castleford . They play good rugby Powell is a decent and honest coach. The squad of players they have seem up for the challenge. Contrast that with the looks on our players faces.

Exactly. When hull kr spanked us a few week ago. I didn't think "ah Im not bothered as I don't consider kr a rival to us and would much rather we beat wigan and wakey". A bizarre mentality from someone who know doubt got involved during the golden generation!

Cash for me has always been the derby game. Bradford only recently came into it when they were doing well late 90 early 00. But I don't think that's why the result is taken badly cars are 8th and in reality that loss confirmed our participation in the middle 8.

I perversely quite enjoyed myself at HQ last night when concentrating on Cas they played well with commitment and enjoyed watching them.

Because Leeds were dire last night shouldn't take anything away from Cas who put in a tremendous almost error free performance in all aspects of the game. In Gale and Dorn they had heads up decision makers that read the game and made the plays and in Junior Moors and Solomona they had players capable of match winning brilliance. Well done Cas.

Cas are decent team, one that we probably should be beating even with men out, but for me they have the best halfback in the league.

A few years a go Wigan put 50 past us when they had quite a few injured and banned and we were close to full strength, for me that was miles more humiliating, although granted at that point we were about 5th/6th iirc

the answer to that question is, all those people at the scoreboard end, they were the ones smiling at the end, along with many in the main stand and myself in the carnegie stand sat with my loiner loving relatives. gosh how i've loved this last 12 months.As with the previous 3 consecutive matches against our more illustrious neighbours i stayed at the end to see the cup presented, after all this is our cup final. one thing brian will leave the fans as his legacy will be 'how to be gracious in defeat', along with a few trophies.
as for your comment mr potatoes, it would seem the fact that cas took a following to leeds almost the equivalent of a wildcats home crowd suggests your comments might be slightly flawed. but by default your team have now become our main rivals as leeds it would seem prefer to play the bulls.
