The only position we need to fill next year from overseas in Hooker. A top Hooker would seriously improve our attack.
Tend to agree but O'Connor and Ackers both contracted for 2026.We really need Ackers to find the form he showed at Salford.

| I could see Ackers being released to find another club if he can't find the form we are looking for over the rest of the year. When players enter the last year of a contract, the conversation with them changes and it goes one of two ways, we want you to stay, or we won't be offering an extension and you are free to leave if you find something else.

| Isn't one of BA's lads a dummy half?

I doubt Ackers would walk away from a contract that doesn't expire till the end of 2026 and I can't see the club being to keen to lose money by paying him off. When he returns in the next couple of weeks he knows ( especially if we are running with one hooker in the 17) that he'll have to produce his best. There's a good chance, like Lisone, that he might take his game up couple of levels and give BA another headache. He's a good player, Ackers, who for one reason or another hasn't quite shown it at Leeds - yet, but with a settled spine in place and the rest of the pack really starting to cook, I'd back him deliver his best over the next couple of months.

| I don't think that we will pay Ackers off, but we might tell him that we won't be offering him another contract when his current one runs out. This leaves him in a position where he has a choice to make, does he look to see out the contract and hope he can get another one elsewhere when he is a year older, or does he look to move on and secure a 2 or even 3 year deal elsewhere to secure a longer term future? I don't see a need to pay him off.

| Sure Brads boys , if they wanted to, could get work over here - not necessarily as Rhinos, but maybe its just something they dont want to do.
Expect that one or two of our off contracts like Lisone will be upping there game to get new contracts, but again not necessarily with Leeds...

| Would Brad settle for signing one of his lads if he felt he could do better? Doesn't strike me as the sort that would.

Exactly that. As a coach he knows the crucial importance of having the strongest possible squad. Chucking away a quota spot away on of his sons, neither who have yet made a serious dent in the NRL would look like a desperate act of nepotism from the club on Brad's behalf. Can you imagine how that might sit with the players? I know the likes of Cleary and Lam play for their dad's but in both cases are they undisputably the must important player in the side. It's certainly not out of the question that one, or both of his lads end up in the UK at some point, but that doesn't mean it should be at Leeds.

| I actually think there's more chance Arthur will head to Newcastle than Perth.
Either way, he will leave the Rhinos by the end of 2025.
