Wasn't there another RU forward having a go recently as well? Interesting if we're putting feelers out.

At 6 feet and 18 stone, he should be a big thing, however given the rotund nature of RU props he could be a big fat thing. No harm in exploring these kind of options though, since I believe he wouldn't count on the cap initially if he did sign. In the other news the YP are reporting we are favourites to sign Lee Kershaw with Olpherts set to depart. Somebody aught to tell poor Shabs. He'll be heartbroken.

Kershaw is an upgrade on Olpherts for me if he’ll come to fight for a place. Luke Briscoe vibes for me but then he ended up playing loads.

The RU prop I have no idea about, but we are still clearly looming to improve depth there. I suspect we really didn’t have as much cap spare as some would like to think but let’s see what happens; Myler’s salary will be useful.

I’m not against another winger in theory I’m just against Opherts being that winger - looks like the club agrees.

RS really isn’t afraid of moving people on if he doesn’t think they’re up to it is he?

Kershaw would put some genuine pressure on existing wingers and the younger lads coming through, and we do tend to get injuries to our current outside backs.

I’d love us to get a really decent prop who can add something we don’t have rather than just a squad filler.

Union props and second rowers rarely succeed in League in fact they are are generally awful converts, its simply a very very different role with the same name.

But maybe he’s a poor union prop and better suited to League. Prop is much mire difficult position in league than some people think. Defensive reads, tackling technique, plus attacking structure and running lines all take years to become instinctive.

He is big enough and I presume he wants to have a go so let’s try him, sideways movement will be a struggle but he will be tough .

Yep. Would have thought the chances of it working out are probably one in a hundred, but no harm in trying.
