Harry was a real gentleman with a wealth of rugby league stories that could enthrall you for hours. His tales were from his own personal experiences gained from his years at Hunslet, his first love, then Leeds with schools, international colts and his French RL connection thrown in. His enthusiastic love of the game and good humour will be much missed and his like may never be seen again.
I had the good fortune to get to spend time with Harry at several functions, at one in France a few years back, he was translating from the servers, what each dish was. On one particular course, he just said, "you don't want to know, just eat plenty of bread with it" . As has already been said, a warm, witty, intelligent charming gentleman, an encyclopedia on all things RL and Leeds RL in particular. The embodiment of our great Club.
