| Wigan may win games with their style of pushing the game to the very edge and bend rules and slow the game down. But is it good for Rugby League. I doubt it, the public want to see fast flowing rugby. To use the football argument Wigan's style is the long ball game of the 80's which put English football in a blind alley

Magic Weekend, shockingly boring running three tries in from their own half

| You have to congratulate Wane, not berate him. He’s taken a bunch of mid-table players (with a couple of exceptions) to winning trophies and who currently sit second in the league. There is no doubting his record since he’s been at the helm, but to achieve what could be considered as a remarkable feat must take some considerable skill.
He has coached his side to play a very specific and effective style of football that, more often than not, wins those games.
The problem being that it is the most tedious, boring, mundane spectacle to watch on God’s earth. It’s a trade-off. If you want success from a bunch of mid-table players then you have to play in this most excruciating style.
Maybe we’re just spoilt? We get to watch, on the whole (last year’s CC final excluded) a very expansive and improvised style of play week in, week out. We can play this way because we have a very unique, eclectic bunch of players who know each other intimately and can therefore pre-empt what each other will do. Leeds play an ‘off-the-cuff’ brand of football which is not only extremely effective but also extremely entertaining.
With a different set of players we would struggle playing the way we do. If we tried to play with an improvised style whilst having a squad with the talents of… say… Wigan, we would now be playing ‘Middle 8’ rugby.
Question is… do you want success or to be entertained? At Leeds we have both, at Wigan it’s a choice.

| Will be interesting to see the mood on the Wigan board towards him if they don't win the GF. With the cup out of the question and LLS looking slim now it could be two trophy less seasons for Wane in a row. Given in 2012 he did manage the LLS but fell at the semi final hurdle in both main prizes then failure to land the big one this year could mean failure in 3 of the 4 seasons in charge.
So would he be considered to be delivering enough if they end this year empty handed?

I wouldn't be fabbergasted to see Sheens jump ship in their direction when Marwan has finish with him,or T Smith for that matter.

| Wane will get at least one more year i reckon even if they bomb out in the play offs.
I think the big thing will be how Tomkins blends back into this Wane side that is a level below the 2013 double winners (which was by no means great either imo). if they fail next year and Sam is not SL's star turn as he was before then he will be gone.
