Again we lacked composure and our defence was sh##.
By the time we "turned up" it was over and Wire had Cigars out.
However our next set of fixtures may look it SHOULDN'T disguise the need for a cull and a serious rethink at the top imo.

What I cannot get is how hungry Wigan & Wire have been even after going 30 points up.

I know confidence is low, but when Wigan made a couple of mistakes last week they were really ed off with themselves. Wire last night were quick off the block and into tackles quicker, we were lethargic and looked uninterested. Its not good enough.

Precisely! When Wigan were all dominating in the 80's they were like that. Leeds were like that under Tony Smith - they could stick the knife in and twist it. That is good coaching! TAXI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The same things that have been going wrong for the last 18 months. With the ball, the forwards didn't win any collisions therefore there was no quick ptb or decent quality ball to the halves. We had no depth to our play or any structure or set moves. It was one out stuff and has been for a long time. All our forwards are the same, there is no variety and certainly no "X" Factor among them.

Without the ball, we have no set defensive pattern (witness the number of times players are pulled out of position, and how you very rarely see the same players defending next to each other on a regular basis). Our technique is poor in the tackle (with the ball also) meaning we lose the collision, and are always on the back foot. We have very little communication in defence, and make schoolboy errors like failing to number up properly. These have been common themes throughout the BMD/Lowes era and some time before too.

All of the above are fixable, with the majority of the current squad. We need to add some fresh blood(2 Props, a quality Hooker, a gamebreaker Second Rower and maybe a Centre, although some of these may come from within), but mostly we need to give the players a structure that they can understand and trust. They look very hesitant and nervous at the moment, and although there is no real lack of effort in my view, there is a clear lack of belief that they can turn this around under the current guidance.
