Not sure of the artist's name, but apparently he is a friend of Gary Moorby, John's old team mate in the 80's.
As for the statue I think that his family would favour something like the picture on the front cover of the book. Hopefully the statue will stand on the concourse of the proposed new South Stand and will be a fitting tribute to the club's greatest ever servant.
