Love it when a plan comes together

Two yrs planning, given up as we have now agreed we cant or wont afford the new stand.

Why take fans money from the Rhinos for 4life scheme ? were has this money gone ?

How much have we wasted in paying designers etc and applying for planning etcj just to get to the payment side and think oh we cant afford this !!!

The parent club sold the cricket ground to YCC who got a loan from the council which wiped off the leeds rlfc and with a bit more left over.YCC the rebuilds 90%of the cricket ground,it looks very nice and the old landlords cant afford to rebuild 35%of the rugby ground.I think they are once again in financial difficulties ,thats why they resigned players past their sell by date and signed the likes of moore etc

Maybe trying to force cheap funding from public coffers to update a key sporting venue to the city? Some sort of last minute "blackmail"?

Either that or the club has secured a deal with Tescos?

The most recent published figures show that Leeds RLFC had £2.4m in the bank and had used other surplus cash to lend the RU club £1.6m. Together that is £4m - cash which had been earmarked to cover the bulk of the cost of the South Stand (anyone know what the final price tag was? Around £6m I think but that could be the smaller scheme). The question mark over the RU cash aside, borrowing the balance from a bank would not I would judge be difficult given the real estate against which it could be secured.

There is something else to this, beyond the funding red herring.

I can't get my head round this. It just makes no sense whatsoever. The funding must have been in place initially if they were intending to start the project around now. I can't work out whether the plans, which won't have been cheap, are now scrapped or if the whole project is just delayed. The latter would make more sense, otherwise why go so far down the planning route, however if that is the case it makes it harder to understand the problem with funding?

All very confusing and the club need to be a little more transparent on this.

Presumably, none of this were 'budgeted for', so where's all the money gone?
