I think that you'll find that the Metropolitan Line is closed between Amersham and Northwood on Saturday 28th August.

If you fancy travelling on a bus replacement service then just go for it.

Metropolitan Line: Northwood-Northwood Hills-Pinner-Northe Harrow-Harrow on the Hill-Northwick Park-Preston Road-Wembley Park

Bakerloo Line & Rail: Harrow & Wealdstone-South Kenton-North Wembley-Wembley Central

I have done the Metropolitan line several times in the past with no problems. I might try the Jubilee line this year

Two new alternative routes for drivers.

1. Exit M1 at Jct 4
A41 then right on A410 to Stanmore tube station (Jubilee line terminus) before the town
Should take about 10/15 mins
Wembley Park 4th stop
NCP parking about a quid. I think 700+ spaces)
Should be quick in and away

2. Check out this special rail service to Wembley Stadium station

You can exit the M1 at Jct 21
go on M69 to Warwick (40 mins)
Warwick Parkway Station take train to new Wembley stadium (about 1.5 hours) 18 quid return regular
service.
It will save about 100 miles driving (return) and take out the stress of the busy bottom half of the M1

You also forget the oft-forgotten overground line between Marylebone - Wembley Stadium

The thing about the Jubilee Line is that you can take it to Wembley Park by all means, but it stops at three times as many stations as does the Metropolitan over the same stretch of track. It is often the case that later departing Metropolitan trains overtake Jubilee Line trains between central London and Wembley Park.
