Yes. Wilf Rosenberg (the Flying Dentist) came to Leeds from South Africa where he was a centre in the Union code. He became known as a scorer of spectacular tries including a brace in the win V St Helens in the Championship semi final of 1960/61 helping Leeds on their way to securing their Holy Grail V Warrington at Odsal for the first time.

There was a Darren Coen who played for Bramley, amongst several other teams (including Dewsbury) - I think that he was Jewish.

I've no idea of his religious background or beliefs but Darren Coen, IIRC, started out at Bramley and came to prominence in the 1st Division (as it was back then) at Castleford for a few seasons in the early eighties.
