Quote: huddersfield rhino "To my mind we have a serious problem in the centres, we never replaced Toopi, Abblet is a good squard player but not top class, Senior how much lomger can he play. Is Smith a centre if so is he staying, Watkins to young to be expected to play week in week out, Glesson would have been a good buy.
Need to replace Ellis, at least till Eastwood comes a clear weakness and finally we need another Prop, Feel our front row don't have pressure on them to perform, lossing Scrutton was a loss. Finally McGuire has not been performing, against Salford he was a terrible he needs pressure from others to keep him on his game.'"

My god. We must be in a far worse state than I realised. We need two centres, a second row, a prop, and a stand off. GH should open the cheque book and get signing. Get rid of all the years of recruiting from within and balancing the books. This is after all the the best time to spending money, with the economy as strong as it is. We also can live with the joke the South stand is becoming, we don't need money to replace that. We should just start throwing money at the squad and use the Warrington model of success. Oh hang on. icon_rolleyes.gif

We may need a new player. But who's to say Eastwood won't be here for the end of the season. If his visa comes through and the bulldogs don't make the play off's.

Quote: DISA "Would be one of the most ridiculous signings. He is absolute gash.'"

Surprised me mate only posting what i read!!
Whatever the outcome i think we should be hearing whether or not smith, ablett, worrall and gibson are staying sooner rather than later and also confirmation one way or another about eastwoods situation.

Interesting thread this. Lots' of people doubting our lads on here. Lots of people doubting that Eastwood would get here next year and lots of fantasy football internet experts drooling over players we should sign rather than players we have got.

Except, of course, the sage on page 12 who said...

Quote: "The current crop are our most successful crop of players ever. Full stop. More successful than Lewis Jones, Arthur Clues, Eric Harris, John Atkinson, John Holmes, Syd Hynes, David Ward. All legendary names in our history and all failed to achieve what this crop of players have done.

It really irritates me how little that seems to be appreciated by our own fans.'"

Quote: The Joker® "There is no doubting our first choice 17 should be capable of bringing back the trophy home come Old Trafford time but is our Strength in depth so bad compared with other sides in Super League or are we really reading too much into it?...'"

Well bar Danny Buderus i was correct... I too have the faith, Although i am of course not happy with how the team are performing at the minute i hope Brian McClennan can show us all that he indeed knew what he was doing and there was no need to panic...'"

Have the faith... Kirke, ablett & burgess are squad players outside the 17 at best.'"
I think they more than proved there value to the 17 Match Day Team this season...

I'm surprised Eastwood is coming just based on what he's said and reported to have said. Having said that, I'm glad he is - he'll add a bit to our go-forward and take somehandling pressure off Lautiti.

Amazing how we've managed to win 3 GFs with a finished Toopi, a second row and a full back alternating in right centre. I wonder how we'll go with a real one next year?

Shushed! Your not showing enough gratitude there Brisbane.....depth of strength in a squad is the work of Beelzebub....apparently.... icon_wink.gif

Really looking forward to Eastwood's arrival. I thought we had missed out on that one, and he will give our attacking options some oomph.
