30462.jpg [b:3oz7jfnu]Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane told BBC Radio Manchester:
"Some people within the club [Castleford] have come out with comments saying we're beatable and it's a great game for them and they're very confident.
Many of the comments I've heard have been bordering on disrespectful.
They can be as confident as they want, but they're going to get a tough game this weekend and we'll be trying our best to make sure they don't get that win.
We've played in some big games over these last few years and they've not played in as many, if any, so to be that confident is very risky for them.
They come here with confidence because they've scored a lot of points and beaten us at home, but I wouldn't be overconfident if I was them."
[u:3oz7jfnu]Incidentally Wane's mob got stuffed 16 - 4[/u:3oz7jfnu] [/b:3oz7jfnu]:30462.jpg |

| Probably done it early as a slap across the face of the fringe players he felt let him down on Sunday?.
Its a strange one can't recall a coach naming his side so early. One thing I can say after listening to Brian Mac on the radio on Friday I know who I would want giving my team talk before a match!

Possibly, without seeing the whole press conference though I'd also say McDermott has the tendency to get bored by obvious and repetitive journalist questions and to dismiss the "did anybody play their way in, or more importantly way out vs London" he's just thought f**k it I'll name the team now. Like the OP said, think 99% of us would've come up with that lineup so had no real reason to keep his cards close to his chest and he's probably fielded quite a few questions about team selections over the last few days.

| Cheers DetroitSoul! Was a pleasure to see your fantastic stadium for the first time the other week.
It could well be mind games as such - I can't see anything that would come as a major surprise tactically as a "bluff," as it were - the Leeds side does pick itself for me. Other than shuffling Kevin Sinfield to hooker, Burrow in the halves, or possibly starting Aiton and giving Burrow impact off the bench, I can't see any real deviations from that side.
Essentially Cas know they have a mammoth task in front of them - regardless what position they play, Sinfield, Peacock, Burrow et al will take some beating. Cas can only focus on their own game.
I think the only doubt for us will be the Huby situation. For me, the team that plays will be very close to the semi team, with the only additions probably being Carney and Hauraki. Really not sure who misses out if this is the case, Carvell is a big game experienced prop and would seem to be a good player to have in the squad for a game like this. However, Wheeldon has done really well for us, and Jewitt is ever impressive, Massey has a bit more speed and mobility - DP has some tricky choices to make.

On the 9th day, Satan created Salford.
A battle ensued through to to late on the 12th day.
A few hours later, a truce, and on the final stroke of midnight, Code 13 was created...
Heaven and Hell combined forces and delivered Salford Red Devils...a legacy is born!!!!!:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_71248.jpg |

| Good luck to Cas in the final, will be good to see the CC won by a down to earth squad..
Hopefully, RL is now starting to see the axis of power switch from the usual suspects

Total mind games. I think he's trying to push Powell into naming his and putting Huby in.

| I think McDermott has just picked his most experienced side - thats all. Only Sutcliffe in their squad lacks big game experience allthough he has had plenty of game time this season.

Leeds are a pretty down to earth squad too with many of their players coming through the Academy.
Admittedley moreso in past seasons but nevertheless still have a hefty slice of them playing on Saturday.

Mind games? Thats rich comming from a club that insisted that Rangi Chase was in a race against time to get back from a court case in Aus,to play in a semi final, when in fact he never left the UK. A joke surely.

38511.jpg [b:3v5chy3z]Brian McDermott paraphrased Peter Fox.
"He'd say if we had 13 Bernard Dwyers we wouldn't lose many RL games. It's the same for us with JJB"[/b:3v5chy3z]:38511.jpg |

the funny thing about that was that cas thought that they were playing mind games and believed that the rhinos would take it all in,but rangi's close cousin weller made everyone at the Rhinos aware of the situation

All the best as well from a 74 year old Wigan supporter even though I only live a couple of miles from Leigh.
When Wigan lost at Cas, I think it was about 33-32 I thought it was just a bad day at the office from Wigan. Since then I have changed my opinion, Cas just seem to have got better and better. On Saturday though I think you must get more minutes from Clark to really push Leeds, he seems such a good player I think he could give Leeds a load of grief the more time he is on the field.
Once again good luck.
