I think this is quite a coup for Cas. And it should cheer up any fans who thought that losing Marc Sneyd was going to be a problem for you.
He has struggled to get regular games at Melbourne, but will find life in Super League a lot easier. In fact I think if he settles down he will be a real star in Super League.
I saw Roberts a few times in the World Cup and he is quick and strong with a good left foot. Definitely an improvment on Sneyd IMHO. Well done to your coach on getting him.

They quoted a quite surprising stat on the footy show a few weeks ago - only 7% of players who play in the NRL go on to play more than 100 games. This guys played over 130 and whilst he's only played half of Melbourne's game this season, he's been a regular in previous seasons at Canterbury & Paramatta.
Well worth watching U tube clips to whet the appetite. Looks quite strong, is quick off the mark with a decent step and has a bit of a kicking game. Looks better than Sneyd.

"Some people within the club [Castleford] have come out with comments saying we're beatable and it's a great game for them and they're very confident.
Many of the comments I've heard have been bordering on disrespectful.
They can be as confident as they want, but they're going to get a tough game this weekend and we'll be trying our best to make sure they don't get that win.
We've played in some big games over these last few years and they've not played in as many, if any, so to be that confident is very risky for them.
They come here with confidence because they've scored a lot of points and beaten us at home, but I wouldn't be overconfident if I was them."

A great signing by the club,I loved the way that DP just simply shrugged his shoulders when HFC paid £100.00 for Sneyd and simply said that we will be stronger next season
He's right we will be and although I would have loved to have kept Sneyd but sadly not at that valuation!
I think that Roberts will be a great signing as will Luke Gale

As a Parra fan I have seen quite a bit of Ben Roberts playing. On his day he is unstoppable. Unfortunately he has too few of those days and can be a liability in defence when he can't be bothered. The Parra team last year was the worst I have seen and he couldn't even get into that. Don't want to put too much of a damper on this signing because if he gets his head in the right place he will be a very good signing. Your coach just needs to keep under a tight rein and monitor his attitude carefully.
