| Before I get hammered for been a Wakefield fan I come in peace! Great news on the playing front and will be great to see Rangi playing in Super league.
I think one of the fans quoted that if he went the funds would not be put back into the team but would help running costs. So what is the financial implications of him staying. I don't think it is a case of Steve Ferres deciding you can afford to keep him, more a case of he is under cotract so nothing else you can do.
If 5,000 members were required I wonder if this factored in Chase staying or going. Good luck and hopefully we will see both team playing competative rugby this year.

| Massive boost for you guys. Ellis, Chase, Shenton, Webster, Owen, Dixon ,Tansey is a quality back line who will trouble any defence. Then you will have a fit again Huby who was a top player prior to injury, plus you have Clark who is great. You must be getting a bit giddy at the prospect of your teams chances for next season.
Lets face it last seasons top seven will all again finish in the top 8. The other 7 all have the ability to finish 8th the team that does will have had luck with injuries ( my side Wakefield were just about injury free last year) and must have a great team spirit, again Wakefield were very good last season on this front.
I am sure that if the Cas players buy into the team and keep fit then they will have a good season.

| Great news on the playing front, also should help push along season ticket sales.
As good as Rangi is he does appear to need some reassuring and mothering to get the best out of him....question is can Millward provide this?

| No - Millward cannot IMO. Getting shut of him would also boost ST sales. Ian Millward is the weak link and I still cannot see us getting anywhere near the best out of our playing squad with him in charge.

| I have always loved to watch Rangi play and at his best he is almost UN-playable,but i am not ecstatic that he has come out on record saying that he has agreed to play the 2013 season at the Tigers
Hmmm now why would that be Rangi?
Is it because your dream move over to join the rest of the Cas lads at Hull FC couldn't be finalised due to complications?
Or is it due to the fact that your proposed return to the Dragons also fell through?
What a nice option to have by staying at the Tigers for a further season eh Rangi, you were clearly still under contract whilst you exercised your options to consider your future, and as they haven't come to any fruition you can now still pick that mega contract money up for a further season
I love a players show of loyalty to the Tigers, and us fans should be truly grateful of your decision

| It seams with some of our fans Rangi is damed if he gos & he is damed if he says we gave him the massive contract we have not stood by Rangi instead we tell him he can go if he can get a club Mr Ferres needs to make it clear to Rangi that he is wanted at Cas he is a game winner and for us he is not replaceable when he dos go it will be a long time before we see a player of is ability in a Cas shirt

| Pleased that we retain our star half-back. Looking forward to the new season now.
Ferres has always said we can afford to keep him and I believe him. What has he to gain by lying? He's been truthful in the meeting: he's no reason to lie.
Rangi leaving now could have been potentially damaging having to look for a new half-back with pre-season just around the corner. Not only that, it might persuade a few of the will we, won't we people to commit to buying a membership and backing the club.
Let's build on that momentum now.

Top post mate. I think Cas will have issues when the inevitable injuries come around easter time. I think our run on 17 is top 6-8 material. It's once we get into the rest of our (weak) squad that we will have issues.

| I just don't like the whole
"playing for wigan would be a dream"
"it's be a dream to play for Hull"
"Playing in the NRL would be amazing"
.............."I'm very happy to stay at cas"
doesn't wash for me. With a new child I think the Mrs has put her foot down and said she's not moving. I knew the girl from time ago... this is DEFINITELY not worth scoffing at.

| I'm just glad it's settled, for now, and we can get on with supporting him on the pitch next season.
TBH, I'd rather he'd gone - his head has been turned and he's been unsettled. Plus it would have released his wages for the salary cap. But he's here, he's ours and we should get on with encouraging him when he pulls on a Cas shirt.
