This is the interesting bit:-
“It is a product of a lot of things that have been manifesting in this club over the last couple of years.
“We need to get to the bottom of it. I have a plan of attack myself, but I feel there are some things that need to be in better place than previously.”
Wonder what that is referring to ?

| At many points this season Millward has refered to things that have happened in previous seasons. At the start of the year he pointed out how many points we conceded and said this would be an area we would look to improve. Since then he has gone onto mention the side slipping back into bad habits of previous seasons. I know that previous years weren't perfect but they were a whole lot better than they are now. Millward has taken us backwards at a time when almost all other sides on the field are moving forwards. He has been in charge for 25 games and we have won 6 maybe we should go back to all of the bad habits of the previous years when we had some bad days but were challenging for the playoffs all year long, were within a posts width of a wembley appearance and had players who would play for the coach.

| Nail on the head Bethman. Add that large mixture to the situation we find ourselves in with regards to the Man Of Steel no longer wanting to play, our best local product throwing a transfer request in mid season. Sacking Millward would cost us a lot. Plus we've already let him build his squad for next year with fantastic signings like Jordan Tansey.

Why focus on the signing who is clearly a squad player (a clear upgrade on the 2012 squad players such as Steve Nash and James Grehan). Would you not class Shenton or Webster as "class" signings?

No.
Shenton- Was a big fish in a small pond at CT- shown up for what he is at ST's. Ask ST's fans what they think.
Webster- Dirty, inconsistent & spends a long time on the rehab bench.
Come on Cas 2/10: Must do better!
FWIW speaking objectively. yes they are an upgrade for you but by no means "class".

Wasn't asking you troll, jog on.
Is this the same Shenton who Saints fans say would have helped them to win the Grand Final had he not injured his elbow. Granted Webster has had his injury problems but when fit he is one of SL best centres. They most certain are class and a massive upgrade on our 1 centre this season (Joe Arundel) who himself has spent more time in rehab than Webster this season.

| Well considering we started this season with one recognised centre Shenton & Webster are improvements. However they won't be much use to us next season unless we strenghten the pack and the all round defence.

Not being pedantic/obtuse but I believe everyone of those players are better than Webster, so to say he's one of the best in SL is very far fetched IMO, which is the key factor. If you think otherwise it's a good job I'm not in charge of your recruitment, although I'm glad I don't have that to worry about too!
As I said, an improvement but not jaw dropping.

| Shenton is clearly a good signing. Before his injury was best English centre. I think Cas will allow him to be good again. I'd have been happy if Wakefield had signed him.
Webster I know less about but he is no mug.

Corrected some of the above. You're right that Webster has had his injury problems and that's fair comment. But when he's fit, he's one of the most dangerous centres in Super League and takes some stopping.
92 apps 32 tries is a good return. I think you're letting your red, white and blue/anti-Cas glasses get in the way of being fair and balanced.
