Intertesting one this (in my view): news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_l ... 746343.stm
I recall when Ben left Cas it was heralded as a watershed and Wakey were all over what a superstar he was and that we'd live to regret it and what a plum the Cas management was to allow it to happen. Interesting that another contract down the line he is away on his bike again somewhere else and only managed 7 stints this term at Wakey.
I don't watch a lot of Wakey and I am not close to their setup, but perhaps it could be that the Cas management got it right in the first place and this individuals assessment of their own value in the market is not the same as CTRLFC and subsequently Wakey?
(I will post fix this as I always do, I would have and still would do anything for a SL contract and half the talent that most of these guys have, I am not bagging him personally, just a point that ocurred to me)

| I think Ben was a good prospect at the time the Polecats signed him (heralded by some Wakey fans as a international certainty) but he just went to the wrong club and wrong coach. How many of their academy winning side of 2009 are actually playing first grade now ?

| Seems to have something in common with Liam Watts - another ex Cas youngster who was touted as a real 'one that got away' but doesn't seem to have made much of an impact this year.

31007_1580947500.jpg EVENTUALLY, WE'LL WIN SOMETHING, ,MAYBE, IF I'M STILL ALIVE THEN:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_31007.jpg |

| I think most Wakey fans would agree that he hasn't kicked on like we expected, and he still seems too trim. What I was impressed with was at Warrington a few weeks ago, in the pre-match warm-ups, he was the one doing all the shouting and bawling and geeing everyone up. I know pre-match shouting doesn't win you anything, but I was just impressed by his attitude and willingness to try and lead despite the lack of experience.

| No questioning his heart and attitude but after a storming first team debut, he just hasn't fulfilled his potential.
Could be a coaching/conditioning issue - Mr Kear certainly has a blind spot when it comes to bringing youngsters into the first team - or it could be that he's just not as good as we (or you) hoped.
Either way, good luck to him at Salford.
