Millward is too good a coach to end up at Cas, he would be perfect for Leeds, Hull or Bradford and may be simply waiting for the Wire job when Smith moves on.
What was his record again at Saints? Look at the team he left that year and how he managed the transition in squads.
He has performed miracles at Leigh by managing a reducing budget and developing players who had finished third bottom the year before he arrived.
He didn't have the luxury of breaking the bank at T'Humbles and was never accepted by the establishment - Wain, Radlinski etc He has grown up a lot in the last 5/6 years, he understands the line after which arrogance starts.

Sounds like the deal is done, he's met the players and will be announced tomorrow.

Blimey! I think the Cas fans had better be prepared to stand corrected, he'll be a huge success at Cas, I have no doubt whatsoever about it. Just because Kris Radlinski doesn't like him doesn't mean he's not a good coach, when he first took over at Leigh we were in dissaray, he took us to be the best part time club around, then the second time around he's done pretty much the same thing.

Ask and Leigh or Saints fan what they think of his years and years there and bar the odd prat, they will all say he's a legend. Ask a Wiggin fan where he spent 3 or 4 months and they will say otherwise.

I'll be more than happy to say "my uncertainty on Millward was completely wrong" if things go smoothly but time will tell.
