Can't blame the ref for all the penalties. It was clear after 10 minutes he was gonna ping anybody messing about at the play of the ball. The players of both sides should've learned and not messed about.

Happy we won, but think we conceded too many soft tries. I was happy with the young guys in the side. Thought Holmes and Walker both ran hard, and Arundal looked at home at this level, but I thought Milner was outstanding, he was my MOM by a mile. Thought Huby was great too, put some massive hits in defence and looked good ball in hand. I think with Isa and Owen to come into the backline we could have a good year. Just hope they don't feel they have to accommadate McGoldrick somewhere, cos I don't think he has a place in our best 17.

Yes he was, if you watch the Wigan game you'll see "hands in" "not square" a plenty, not penalised, let go if you like.

So depending on what ref you get will decide what you can and can't do, players must be so confused.

And watch it come back and hit both clubs next week, a more lenient ref - Hudds will hold down forever against Cas (so will Catalan against you lot) Cas & Wakey will jump off tackles straight away.

No consistency with the refs is hell for the players, how can you play when the rules change by the ref?

The most important thing today was getting the 2 points; which we did. There was a lot of emotion for the wakey players which they used to good effect today. Although our goal line defence needs a hell of a lot of work I was pleased overall, particularly as the team seemed to up a gear whenever they needed to. I thought the attitude of the players looked more professional too. No over celebrating on the first try, little things like that are a positive for me. In years gone by I think we would have come unstuck in a game like tonights, so well done Cas. There's plenty still to come from us this year.
