| I’d just like to say that Cas has the best hospitality in the league - even better than us. The Jungle is the friendliest ground, the best atmosphere and by far the best fans in superleague.
The pie and peas from the potato person in the corner is the best anywhere (even Wakey which take some beating in that dept) The bars are ace and the staff at the ground are lovely. The view is superb and the banter on the terraces is always great.
If the grand final is Cas V Bulls I would consider that the best possible end to 2010. (the cup final needs to be Saints v Bulls for historical reasons.)
Anyway, anyone missing out on the away game at Cas at any time is an idiot or has their priorities all wrong!
Performancewise, today - it's hard to tell this time of year. It's a time for trying combinations and blowing the cobwebs off. I honestly and sincerely hope you have the best season possible (apart from ours obviously)

| First half our side did incredibly well to keep the Bulls at bay for as long as they did. We were vastly understrengthed in comparison their side and several players impressed including Widders and Chase.
In the second half, it was a game of the two club's junior players although Widders and Clayton did play a little bit. I think our youngsters are much smaller in comparison to Bradford's and need to bulk up a little over the season and they'll go well. Still a long way to go before they make first grade rugby although Walker and Davies looked good.

| Two very different halves in my opinion. Our fringe players did very well against a strong Bulls outfit.
In the second half the 8 Bulls subs added extra zip and as is always the case in boxing day games the youngsters are much keener to play and it was a tough and entertaining second half. Our lads tired as we spread out our subs rather than have two seperate teams per half and that for me was the difference.
Loads of positives for us and Im confident we have a bit more depth than we thought. And for the Bulls, they have some top young lads too. Burgess may have gone, but they have two more with every ounce as much potential! Double trouble!
As for 2010, it told us absolutely nothing! As it shouldnt do at this stage. Though it did say that going to watch the Academy and Reserves is a good way to spend some time!

Until he went off with (hopefully just a) knock, he did quite well. Looked capable of breaking the line on every carry.
Long-term, I'd be surprised if he didn't turn out to be one of our best acquistions of the Super League era.

That is a very bold statement, especially after 1 friendly.

After the way he played for us last season it wouldn't surprise me!

My prediction has next to nothing to do with the friendly.
He was outstanding for Wakey last season - if he's anything like that for us he'll really beef up our back 3.
