Why the obscene gesture to his own fans?

Thought his introduction in the second hald coincided with our best spell of the game.

It did, i said to someone at the side of me widders had turned the game in our favour. Cant for the life of me wonder why he 2 finger gestured the fans.

I really don't think it was an offensive gesture because it makes no sense.

Someone on t'other forum said he could understand the gesture following some fans behaviour at the Leeds and Catalans game but I saw Widders smiling and acknowledging the Cas fans before the game when his name was being chanted.

In some cultures, I think a 2 fingered gesture isn't considered offensive and may even be seen as a positive gesture. I see photos of people doing it all the time in a friendly way. I'm sure this is what it was.

If it wasn't, then I have no idea what happened as the fans were well behaved and in good spirits IMO, particularly towards Widders as there were numerous occasions in which his name was sung.

And Usain Bolt on TV for the last week or 2, nothing wrong with it and I'm 99% sure it wasn't meant to be offensive at all.

Not down with the kids myself but I got the impression it was more of a brothers type two fingers,nothing more sinister than that i'd suggest.

I'd be shocked if it was a nasty salute to us but I cannot see that in a million years.

Obviously nothing in it as if you look at half the Aussies/Kiwis pictures on facebook its a common pose they like. Im guessing the warning was because it was picked up by the cameras and could be percieved by some people to be aimed at someone, thus making the game look bad on TV

Sod the gesture, am glad to see Sarge has got off - thought for sure he'd get a ban after seeing the replay on the big screen.

I got the impression it's only really over here where it's considered offensive.

That you did and you was right The next 2 games we should chant his name then stick the 2's up at him.

Surprised he got off myself,thought it was a deliberate attack to the head.He had plenty of time to pull out.

Yet he never hit his head and hit him less then a second after he had passed the ball?

I only saw bits of the game and saw him score and give two fingers, i thought it must be his second try and it did not look offensive to me.
