Great shame the club have axed Wayne, not sure what the saving will be, but can't think it will be astronomical and surely better to have a pro doing the job?

Im surprised he isnt prepared to do it for free. Still gets to watch the match and its only once a week. Real shame he's leaving.

Darren Payne is taking over, and from what has been said on Casforum, Wayne was only given 1 days notice, which is a disgrace to say he's worked for the club for 10 years

It's a disgrace if true. Matchdays wont be the same without him.

Shame he's going tbh, seems as if he's always been there. I can see where the club are coming from when they are paying for Darren Payne and PA when maybe they only need one of them and since Payne probably does more of a full time role they've decided to keep him and make him take on Waynes matchday role. That said, i haven't a clue if Wayne did anything else for the club tbh and i'm just guessing.

Maybe in future Wayne can bring along a megaphone and stand in the WRE and shout "ceeeeeeeerm on youuuuuuu Tiiiigggerrrrrrrssss" and get the fans going.

Apparently he was told on Friday that the Salford game would be his last game that he will MC on, thats why its only 1 days notice.

Will be sadly missed, can't have always been an easy job for him to whip up the crowd's enthusiasm at half time for the past ten years.

The bloke's a legend. He's done a superb job at the club over the years and I'm sorry to see him go.
