The promotional .pdf linked on Facebook was just short of being a 70MB download a046.gif ....and yes that is the clubs problem, not mine!!.

Promo sheets like that like that given are normally about 1 or 2 MB in size (I have done many!)...yet Cas managed to string it out to 67MB by not compressing it properly. Not all downloading mediums tell you the file size....but your phone bill would have when it was nearly £6 per MB.......yes that's £6/MB!!! Or in plain English...getting on for £400 which at this point certainly ain't gonna do anyone any favours!!!

So yes, 400 notes is something to moan about as you'd be spending more paying for the download than you would for most of the memberships being promoted on it!!! icon_frustrated.gif

We won't make 5000, Wakefield on the other hand, will. However, what is taken in revenue will be a similar figure.

It looks like Cas are counting all memberships in this total Wakefield are only counting Gold, we have silver and bronze too but the 4000 is for the deal to be fixed by the end of October

tbf 70mb is clearly a high res print pdf, not a web optimised one ...

Does anybody know exactly how many season tickets we have sold in previous years?

Last season was the worst i can remember, this season we still have the same useless coach, a smaller squad, are now segregating on our own fans (which is one of the worst ideas i have ever heard) and it looks like we are going to sell our best player and our only chance of not finishing bottom.

BUT, i love this club, i've spent thousands of hours following cas and spent thousands of pounds, i've travelled to the 3 ridings of yorkshire, lancashire, cheshire, cumbria, scotland, wales and london to watch cas, when we lose i feel down, when we win i feel good. Cas is in my blood, 3 of my family played for cas and i have watched them since being a kid. The club need us now more than ever and i will be buying my silver membership and encouraging others to do the same.

Ask yourselves when you sang 'cas until i die' on the terraces did you really mean it?

F**king top post pyeman, hope the Cas fans wipe the slate clean, get behind the club and enjoy the season.
Being part of a club isnt just about winning, its being a part of it and enjoying the good times and supporting during the bad times.
Best wishes from me in Ponty.

A great post there Pyeman a014.gif

You hit the nail on the head about the performance's last year...they ruined many a weekend for me in 2012.

But when i sat down and thought about it...i couldn't walk away, my love of the club is dug in deeper than i thought.

I have had the pleasure of playing junior rl finals on the pitch, all my family have at some point in their lives have watched games at wheldon road and remain supporters & my late father (who was a season ticket holder for years and was born a stone's throw away from the ground) had his ashes scattered there.

I have been lucky to experience some great times watching Castleford over the years, watching some great players run, pass and tackle their blood to water wearing the amber & black. Lets hope we don't have to wait too long to have that feeling again.

One silver membership sorted...C.O.Y.F icon_smile.gif

Excellent post.

All I have to think is how much I'd lose from not supporting Cas.

Supporting Cas has been in my family for generations. My Grandad bleeds black and amber and has been going down 70 years and still does to this day. He's seen highs, he's seen lows. I will back my club through thick and thin and will always dig deep in times of need. THIS is that time.

We need everyone to forget about the past and wipe the slate clean. This is Year 1 of rebuilding Cas and we need to give SF and NF all the support they can get. They show enthusiasm and passion; heck, Nick is from Wakey. Yet, if he can show drive, determination and will to make a successful Castleford then why can't our own fans?

OUR CLUB, OUR CAS, OUR COMMITMENT.

I know times are difficult both at the club and away from it as the country goes from one recession to another. We at Cas are in our recession and after many years of spin from RW we now have a breath of fresh air in SF who tells us as it is, whether we like it or not.

I appreciate that what we hear we may not like but I'm afraid we are in this mess and we the fans have two simple choices. We either stick with the club or we dont. Now I'm not going to preach on here to those who dont know which way to go but when we've followed the club through 2 relegations and travelled in the numbers we have to places like Barrow and Whitehaven then I personally didn't have a decision to make.

Just like I have done every season since I bought my first "Family" season ticket for the Centenary Season many years ago, I was at the club shop to buy my season tickets last wednesday morning and I hope all of you out there will simply get to the shop, club or online and do the same.

Our club, our Cas, our Commitment.

Went and got my silver membership Saturday. They were queuing out of the door! I hope this continues and we get to the 5000 mark.

I personally don't think we will make it to that amount, which is sad because had we had a good season I think things would be very different and fans outlook on the club's future would be massively different

I got my Silver Membership on Saturday. There was an eldely gentleman in front of me who was saying that he wanted to buy a Bronze Membership at 50 quid. He didn't need to get one because he is a life member but he wanted to help the club out and take his grand son to a couple of games. I know he might not read forums like this but if he did I would say to him that that was a fine gesture of the highest order.

Take a bow sir.

It's that sort of commitment/contribution that makes you question whether you're personally doing enough and going that extra mile for your club.

Embarrasses some of our "fans".

Yes - sometimes you can sit back from it all and take it for granted that CT will always be there. The meeting last Tuesday night emphasized that that isn't the case and without "going that extra mile" we might not have a CT to follow.
