| Quote: Fully "Depends how you decide if we 'fail'.
[sizeThe reality of Cas 'failing' is zero because we still have full PP and still have our own asset to sell. Therefore, whether it is 1 year, 5 years or 10 years, Glasshoughton will be built sooner or later.[/size This is in contrast to Wakefield who are relying on the PI to go their way, which if it doesn't then it's back to the drawing board. I do suspect, however, that should this be the case that a new planning application for the same piece of land will be drawn up but on a smaller scale.
Opus are obviously behind WR 100% and are putting significant cash into the project through their various pre-consultations, reports etc, to fully supplement the Planning application for full PP on Wheldon Rd. They wouldn't do that if they were confident and the unprecendented support (over 22k signatures) just makes the work a whole lot easier. It's harder to argue with public opinion.
Anyway, we'll cross this bridge when it happens but for now there is no reason why both stadia shouldn't be built in both sets of fans' opinions. Let's hope that this is the case then this discussion can finally be put to bed and fans from other club can finally go foxtrot oscar.'"
How do you know it will happen? Not long ago you where taken in hook line and sinker by Dickie Wrights Ben bailey angle. You refused to accept that the value of WR was considerably below the cost of building a new stadium (like I said all along). The whole Opus thing is obviously still in its infancy until the planning permission goes in (if it ever does) all your doing is speculating. It’s all wishful thinking and nothing factual has happened till that PP goes in. The truth is that nobody really has a clue what is going on behind the scenes. The whole Ben baileys fiasco took you all by surprise; I feel a few twists and turns will come with this Opus thing.
Wishful thinking will not get you your new ground.

No brainer for me if we share a nm the club will either be merged, dead or playing in championship 1 within 5 years. I think we will take outr own chances thanks. Good luck with newmarket.'"
It's not the same it though Pyeman! I'd rather us be playing right in Wakefield, Durker/Thornes Park but that wasn't to be. Now we have to compromise and move practically outside of town to edge of Stanley. The distance between Wakefield centre and Cas centre to Newmarket is near equal. If we have to share at any the only fair answer would be Newmarket, it would involve both teams moving a distance from their supporter base but that called compromise. Sharing at Glasshoughton would only benefit Cas Tigers, Newmarket would be a fair compromise.

Because we have an asset to sell to part or full fund it.

| As its turned into an appendage proportionality competition, something Mrs KC says i will never win so i'll bow out.
66% against, to be honest i thought it would be higher.
Good luck, hope none of us have to rely on this scenario, but im sure there are many bridgge for lots of water to go under.
Cheers.
KC

It would be interesting if you try the same poll questions on both boards with the opposite scenario -
"Castleford are on with GH and NM isn't looking like happening"
See what results you get then

| I think i answered you (now on numerous occasions on both boards), the differences are IMO enough to skew the results.
Do it from your POV, i'll certainly take part.

| So as this thread is supposed to be hypothetical what about another scenario that maybe not many people have thought about.
The town of Castleford could come under the district of Selby if it were to move away from WDC. There as already been talk of the boundaries moving towards the north yorkshire direction. Therefore Tigers (not been part of the Wakefield district) would not be able to accept this mythical ground sharing option at Newmarket.

O/T I know but the boundary changes your talking about (if they are approved) are for MP only, the local council responsibility for Cas would still lie with WMDC.
Personally I wouldn't want to share as imo it brings us one step closer to what I and a lot of others fought against with fans from the other two clubs across the district. As soon as we start sharing the RFL will be doing nothing but spouting the 'M' word, trying to cajole the two clubs to become one.

I think you are right Junglefever, if we ever decided to share a stadium, that is what the RFL would want.

Are you planning on moving it by yourself, or do you have some helpers?

| Would you ground share? No way, why ask? When will it sink in? We want nothing to do with you on any terms. Simples.

| The BOD at Tigers know how unpopular a move to Newmarket would be with the fans - even if only for a season. I personally think if we were to groundshare until the stadium at Glasshoughton was built we would go to Doncaster or even a re-vamped Post Office Road. All this tripe about "NM is nearly an equal distance between Wakey and Castleford" will not wash with the Tigers faithful - our BOD know that.
I get the feeling from some people involved at WTW that the club are desparate for a co-tennant even as far as to say without one there will be no new stadium at Newmarket.
