| Thought we did ok/not great/not poor.
The amount of games we will win/lose by a couple of points will be the difference between us making the 8.
Point being we need a good kicker.
Dont get me wrong, Matterson is def not stupid + Dixon must really kick well on the training park but he cannot deliver on the day, Ferris/Huby are Quality kicker's, let them kick when there on the field, Dixon as backup. This really makes me mad that he just wants a kicker on the filed who is usually out there for 80mins.....
Who gives a to$$ whos kicking as long as weve got the best kicker out there??!! It isnt dixon....
Oh rant over, but it is a HUGE problem for us.
Milner is a real talent, rangi + Orr should gel well after time together, we should go ok v's most of the teams, but on the performance's of Saint's/Wigan/Hudds i think were a little way off the standard..... Thats just one game though, so take that with a pinch of salt......

I've only based my opinion on what I've seen today, after tomorrows games it may be different again. It wasn't an attempt at trolling, purely my opinion. And based on today, I reckon we'll finish bottom with or without a points deduction.'"
Based on what was on view today that means that Warrington and St. Helens are also going to struggle as neither of them produced anything sparkling, and they didn't have 37 penalties to contend with. The other games were left to flow a lot more than ours and there were numerous occassions where the same offences were being committed but going unpunished. It is foolish to judge any team on the first full 80 minutes of the season, more constructive assessments can be made after 3 or 4 matches as every team so far has areas on which they can improve.

| Thinks I deduced from yesterday:
1. That is a better team than last years side.
2. Wakefield were poor but you can only beat what is in front of you.
3. Orr will ease the burden on Chase and we will see even more from him as a result.
4. We need a better kicker.
5. We have another batch of terrific kids coming through.
6. We will need to raise our game to have a chance of beating MOST of the sides in this league.
7. We should be concentrating on eighth, rather than higher or lower!
Oh, and:
8. Either we're going to have to be incredibly fit and disciplined or get used to extreme differences in refereeing this season!

| Good win last night and a spirited but weak polecat side, The penalties definitely dropped in the second half and the game after, maybe the refs were told to forget it ? Now the sin binning decision was poor,
Now the commentary, If you listened to it throughout the game it was Wakefield this Wakefield that to the point where i thought they must be knocking one off each other every time they scored, It was poor, very poor and being as though they are supposed to be unbiased just shows what pillocks the gruesome twosome are really like

| Noticed the mention for the Wakey youngsters in their lineup....
Cas must have fielded a team of veterans then.

Was thinking the same
Thought Milner had a great game IMO Seemed very calm and to enjoy the moment. Anybody know about the extent of hudsons injury?

And above Salford on their performance today!

| Only just got round to watching the Sky coverage now and couldn't help but notice the constant talking of Wakefield and their young side also. It was quite annoying but then so has pretty much most of the chatter i've seen from Sky so far. Tuning in today live for the first time made me wish i'd bought a double header ticket just so I wouldn't have to listen to the idiot.
At the game yesterday I thought Huby and Chase stood out but was eager to watch the game again. I thought Milner had a great game and stepped in very well when Hudson got injured. Arundel got through some work and will score plenty this season. Johnny Walker had a decent outing get through some tough graft, he should be pleased with his game. I haven't read all the reports and praise, but I've also got to praise Oliver Holmes since I haven't seen anyone else do so. He got through lots of tough work, ran some good angles and seemed to be in on a lot of the action. I'm looking forward to seeing how this kid develops this season.

| Happy with the win on Saturday especially when you look at some of the youngsters in the side.
Minor concerns with the defence at times and the standard of goal kicking though, hopefully they will improve.
Massive test on Saturday, lets hope for a good turnout

| Thought it was the best game on the saturday personally.. Decided to adopt Cas as my 2nd team as needed something to cheer about after our game. Good to sing along to some of the chants and actually listen to two sets of fans singing to each other as it was impossibly for us with huddersfield being at the other end of the stadium.

See after listening on Sky, it appears we werent the most vocal set of fans, But from some neutrals i have heard, They said Cas were by far the best group of supporters. Really gave it a go and made a fair amount of noise
I remember singing songs in Walkabout, But i cant remember who to
At the end of the day, The game was spoilt by poor discipline, Had James Child had reffed the other games, There would have been 40 penalties in them too, So it wasnt as such "poor discipline" just going to have to adjust to the new refereeing interpretations of the rules.
I was relatively pleased, I dont think Cas ever got out of second gear, And didnt need to. Wakefield were everything you expect from a John Kear side, Battling against adversity, But in the end the touch of Class showed through, We should have scored 60 points + though. Plenty to improve on, but its a start. The season has to start somewhere.
