| At 24-4 we were coasting. Everyone in the ground (at least the general feel anyway) was that Cas had this in the bag. The players felt it, the fans felt it probably only Kear and the Wakey team still hadn't given up. At this point it should have been game over but we all know it wasn't. One person in the ground that I know of, apart from myself already predicted that Cas were about to collapse. My little lad said to me at 24-4, "dad, this is just like Quins again!". Yes this was before we'd started to let in tries. This was before Wakey had started their comeback. I don't know what is worse about our defeat. The way we lost a 20 point lead, the team we lost it to or the fact that no one on or off the pitch for Cas did anything about it.
My son for coach, he's 10!

| Quote Dead Man Walking="Dead Man Walking"Your team have this habit of putting 50 points plus on us so that's a concern. '"
We are having to dip into our u20s. That is, those young players who have not been promoted to first team; our real reserves. Some of them have only just turned 18. Since 'two or three' of our first team won't be playing on Monday in addition to Wheeler and Wello who we lost in the match (and we don't yet know who those extra two or three are), then we will be fielding a largely u20s side. There will be no putting 50 points on you on Monday. I'll be amazed if we manage to put a point on the board.

Not as bad as we all thought it was going to be. Phew! Bar Wheeler, it's the same line up as against Wigan, although Wello is playing on an ankle injury and so we may lose him at some point.
We still won't put 50 on you, but at least we now have a fighting chance!

Heart says a sneaky Cas win but on our last two 2nd half performances its a straight forward Saints win by 18,once they get on a scoring roll it will be a long afternoon for us

| Saints will be the first team to hit 30 against us. I think it will be 38-24 saints. I have no hope after witnessing the last 2 games.

| Any thooughts about our fitness levels? Wakey did seem to make quick and simple yards at every play of the ball, where as (other than Fozzy) we didn't seem to have any 'get up and go!'
I thought Childs was poor al round. No bias, just poor!!! In the first half I though he was going to lose control of the game due to a lot of high tackles and neck grappling. However, nothing but our players to blame for a lack lustre performance, missed opportunities, poor ball retention, missed tackles....the lot!

| Much more optimistic today about the Cas Saints game. thought you lot would be able to take advantage of the kids worn out by a wigan lesson in RL. But as it turns out the kids are all right.

| Quote tropical1="tropical1"It was Ferres. If we had got that try i think we would have kicked on but instead we made stupid mistakes and allowed them to get their head up.
Something else that wound me up we allowed them to score from dummy half same as we did with quins last week - for god sake basic rugby get low down so that they can't ground the ball
Rant over
well played wakey
Cas you need to wake up'"
It was dixon clean through with ferres and hudson on inside and owen on outside where did he go owen who had a shocker for me
but saying that dixon didn't even look where he passed it,
and that was the turning point if we scored that that would have been game over but like the old castleford last season we blew it canrt
hold a lead

As I stated. Some Cas fans must not watch the game.

| Quote Fearless' Headguard="Fearless' Headguard"Never mind, lets all get round to McGoldrick's for a few beers and a dance, that should take our mind off it...
Pathetic tonight, all credit to Wakey and certainly to John Kear who finds us out time and time again, but I am just so tired of losing to them in these games. They had the bragging rights when we were sh*te and they sent us down and they STILL have the bragging rights when they are on their ar$e and we are supposedly 'flying high'. Gutted.'"
Think you have nailed it there and your not the only one struggling to comprehend it. I was ready to eat humble pie, and 50 minutes into the game it was over for me.
Your totally right, this should be your moment and over all it is but those bragging rights matter and we all know it.
Most Cas fans don't want us out but they sure want to be top dogs and if we do go you won't want us saying that Cas couldn't beat us even when we were down and out - that's how it is.
It's a strange one and I can't explain it but when it comes to this particular derby one team has the edge in recent times and It hurts - we know.

where are the highlights available? I was sure that it was Dixon however only being 5 foot 4 and having someone jumping up and down in front of me may be the reason i mistook the player
And as for some cas fans not watching the game 'cas all the way' - i go to every cas home game and the only away match i have missed was quins due to work commitments

| Quote wakeyrule="wakeyrule"You can ALWAYS blame the ref!! I thought your first try was from a forward pass, and your second he was held up!
Second half you bombed at least two tries 'cos Owen over-ran his centre.'"
Two more so far against Whino's - somebody ought to tell him to hang back a touch!
