Thats just not true, Castleford was abosrbed in to the City of Wakefield when the county borough of Wakefield merged with the West Riding municipal borough of Castleford (among other places) to create the City of Wakefield as per the local government act of 1972 confirmed by the cities letters patent in 1974

This smacks of school yard, I didn't agree with how it was done originally and think it should be left to rest. I have a number of friends who follow Cas but I fear that this is starting go beyond rugby rivalry.
