Go on then Squire. Now you have put everybody straight about the spelling, tell us all again how you came about the name.

| Back on topic, SLTV news has a good interview with RW and IM. I'd link it,but not sure about the legality, but I'm sure we can all find it!

Decent interview in which Millward comes across quite well if a little guarded in his comments. Doesn't make any grandiose promises or predictions which you might associate with him given some of the more sensational quotes he's been associated with in the past (I appreciate these sort of things often get taken out of context and misused by the media in order to sensationalise the story).
Having been quite unimpressed initially by the suggestion of Millward being the new coach, having had time to reflect I'm reasonably happy with it now. The telling factor for me is that fans of the clubs where he has spent a reasonable amount of time as a coach ie. Saints & Leigh are very complimentary about him.
In common with a number of other Cas fans I was hoping to see Peter Gentle as our new coach. On reflection I can't really put my finger on why! He is after all something of an unknown quantity to me and presumably to a lot of Cas fans, who has only ever coached at assistant level in Oz.

| If I was a Cas fan I would be delighted with this appointment. His great strength is in building team spirit, which during his time at Saints was sky high, and this was transferred to the terraces, the fans loved him. At Wigan "the establishment" never allowed that to happen, they believed they were better than him, and the results reflected this.
His negative is his gamesmanship, like fielding 16 no hopers against Bradford. He also signed a few duffers for Saints, but on the whole built a top team. Ignore the doom mongers, give Basil a chance, and he will repay you with attractive winning rugby, a great atmosphere, and no doubt a few controversies.

With the names being branded around for the job on the dark side of the common (Goulding, Schofield, Cummings), our appointment looks better and better each day that passes

| Thanks for that SomersetSaint. A good summary of Basils traits and style.
Bang-on also about his clash with the Wigan board.
I am looking forward to seeing his coaching down at the Jungle next year.

I want Cummins, he is the best man for Wakey at this present time imo, the other two are not really contenders.

| Cummins would be good at Wakey and is highly rated as a young (34) assistant with some fresh ideas. Schofield and Goulding - you might as well get Billy Smart to be HC.
My money's on Andrew Dunneman from Newcastle Knights.
The Agar rumours just won't go away though - big mates with your CE ?.

Perfectly legal. It's on the club site at www.castigers.com/article.php?id=1751

I can, good though working with Bennett must be why would he turn down the chance to be first team Coach in a country and league he knows well.
