Unfortunately Vasty, the club itself has been quoted saying that the collapse has left you with a six figure shortfall which could be anywhere upwards from £100,000. There were already rumours that you were heavily in debt again prior to EF going belly up. Tough times ahead for both our clubs by the looks of things.

The whole deal was circa 100K p.a. This deal was paid in monthly installments and the last 2 or probably now 3 i believe haven't been paid. So providing Wakey can get a replacement sponsor relatively quickly then the losses can be kept to a minimum. And as the EF deal wasn't actually that good there is a chance that some of the loss could be clawed back by securing a better overall deal.

Wakey have had wind of this for a while and AG has already intimated that talks have taken place on a replacement. Maybe Fozz has brought his contacts book with him.....

Is that really the best comeback you could manage? Oh dear, standards really are low at that side of the common these days.

Short term there is a problem, no doubt. The club are around 30k down on what they had budgeted for theres going to be a gap. But the deal was made as we emerged from administration and needed to get back on our feet so we took a longer term deal with supposed guaranteed income. The ran until the end of next season. That hasn't worked out but since then our stock has risen and new contacts made that means a new deal is likely to be on better term so in the long term the money can be virtually recouped. Its just the funding gap now that is the issue, one which will probably be filled by a director loan from AG to be paid back out of the new deal.

Watts the point in taking any pleasure from Wakys main sponsor going under, or does it take the fans mind off the problems we are having at Cas.

All we can do is enjoy the performances on the pitch,... but if any one has large amounts off money they wont miss, get down to Welden road and you will be welcomed with open arms.
