| So, Toronto have made it to SL. Well done them. Yet they take nothing into SL no fan base, no hard core fans traveling from one ground to another. They won’t add to the Thursday/Friday TV night viewing figures or away fans coaches parked outside a club on a Sunday afternoon.
So, Toronto leave the championship Well done them. Yet they leave taking nothing into SL no fan base, no hard core fans traveling from one ground to another. They never had away fans coaches parked outside a club on a Sunday afternoon.
Yet the RFL will hale this as a great promotion and a wonderful expansion of the game. I see nothing to help the growth of RL. I see the complete opposite. if Canada want RL, fantastic, build it up from the bottom up. The Wolf pack adds nothing to the UK game. I might be being pessimistic but I don’t see their promotion as being positive for the UK game

| Faxlore at least it saves teams and fans a shed load of money, time, and effort going over the pond . Unless they come straight back down of course.
Is Brian Noble grinning like a Cheshire cat ?

| No fan base? Even if their crowds are inflated they still get more numbers than we can dream about at the moment.
I do agree with the sentiment that they should not be playing in our leagues but the game is in such a state at the moment Im struggling to see the negatives.

| Not caring is the worst thing we can do, this does have the potential to grow the game. Yes, it directly build our crowds but over time if the game grows in Canada & the USA (with New York possibly) then that could have a knock on effect.
If they don’t do it then we will never know, but we do know that teams around the M62 cannot be sustained as things are now, the least it is giving is more news time.

| Mercenaries based out of Manchester for three quarters of the season.
At least the French bring their own kids through, as well as aussie imports.
I'm not expecting grass roots to improve any time soon in North America, so they're only plundering the UK fed trained talent pool.

| Seeds need to be planted and nurtured, I’m just trying to be optimistic, a totally alien view in rugby league I know.

| I’m all for expanding the game but set up Canadian league system and grow it from there.
All teams are allowed an overseas player quota. Except Toronto as all their players are overseas players. It just wrong for me.

| They do seemingly be planting seeds amongst the locals who are keen to learn more about the game, are passionate in their support and appear to actually enjoy watching the games without moaning about refereeing decisions (that'll come later of course). There was a group of them in the pub before the game who got up a good chant aimed at the Fev fans drinking there, complete with the required profanity......
Now what they're doing in regard to getting the locals to play is a different kettle of fish.
