Can anyone point me to a link or confirm what the prize money is this year and next?

I ask as I was told on Sunday that Fax will get same as every other club next year due to new rules (The guy who told me is “always right”!) and this years finish now makes no difference.

Most of the reports I've read seem to suggest that every club is going to get a reduction on what they expected, but it will be pro rata. FWIW Swinton's Chairman Andy Mazey suggested they are going to receive about £40k less than anticipated in central funding if they survive in the Championship.

I'd 100% agree that the lack of information about prize money and what all the teams are playing for is shocking, and has been for a few years, seeing as it's so crucial to every team's season these days.

If you start a season where finishing in the top 4 would carry with it certain rewards then on finishing the season in the top 4 those rewards should be honoured.

However this is the Rugby League of today and anything can happen.

So, if you drop out of SL you get £500k extra, if you finish in the top 4 of the Championship you get told to feck off. Seems fair and about right for the RFL.

It's not going to be split equally but it's going to be much more of an even split than before.

Everyone's agreed that it's no good one club getting ten times another club's cut.

As far as I am aware the parachute payment ££££ is yet another unknown at the moment or even if it will apply at all.

I am not aware of any other sport that give all teams the same amount of prize money regardless of where they finish.If that is the case,field a mass of juniors, save a huge wage bill for a few years,swell the coffers then have a tilt at promotion when you can afford the top players! really the way forward?

A twist to the P Payment emerging from the HKR v Widnes game that you may picked up on.

Widnes were allready relegated regardless, a win for them at HKR could have pushed Rovers into the million pound game and should they have lost and been relegated it could have cost Widnes.
