I have read that the club have sold all the shirt sponsorships for next season. Well done to everyone at the club for doing this. Guaranteed income for the club during the off season and before this season has finished.

Sorry for being a little on the slow side, What is the difference between a shirt sponsorship and a player sponsorship when the retained /released list is not available?
If you are one of the 25 who have done it have you sponsored a number or a player?

The shirt sponsorship referred to here is the main branding on the shirts, company logos etc -front; sleeves;collar etc. This appears on all shirts for the season which are sold in the shop , on line etc. This is therefore generic and one to get over the line first.
Player sponsorship is exactly that-and you receive, marketing, that players home kit etc at the end of the season. Kit sponsorship of an individual player is marketing and the away shirt of that player at the end of the season.This you usually do by named player of your choice once we have a retained list etc.

It is good news but I think for that reason the information should have come from the front door media at the club all nicely packaged up for the sponsors IMO . Particularly The timing with the biggest marketing day the club has had in years coming up ie Leeds Rhinos where you don't know who is coming to visit / dine etc and who might have been tempted to offer up something ie ones for the futureor top trump an existing offer

Good news, but on the flip side I see that Halifax RLFC are overdue in filing their accounts at Companies house (Company number 06190029) which should have been filed by 31/8. Initial fine is £150 - big wow some might say but it creeps up after a month and so on, plus the fact it's all so terribly slack,

There could be all sorts of reasons for that to be fair.

Really? Like what? Companies are given 9 months after the year end to file, for heaven's sake, so there should be NO excuses to be late!

So turn down potential sponsors due to ‘perhaps’ getting in the top 4 just in case we get Leeds?, and then go back cap in hand when we don’t make the 4 only to be told to do one?? I’d rather have the money in the bank. Who is to say how many of these sponsors were signed up before the end of the regular season. Also it maintains the relationship with the existing sponsor. If I’d put £5k into sponsoring the club, only to be told ‘sorry, you can’t have that patch on the shirt because XYZ have offered us £8k for it’, only for 12 months later the club to come back and ask if I wanted to sponsor - I know what my answer would be!!

You have experience of filing accounts then? No chance it could be Companies House late to update?

Yes, I have actually. And in my experience Companies House have never been 10 days late in updating.
