Just rubbish from the RFL, change the whole process a couple of games from the end of the season. It really does just indicate that they really have F-all idea about what they are doing. The whole game is a shambolic joke.

The problem with loop fixtures - like the $uperEights 1 and 3 - is that there are a lot of games with bu99er all at stake. Folk not so interested, gates are lower for these third (maybe fourth or fifth) meetings of clubs in a season. Still, at least we'll have a bit more notice of the fixture list instead of the current ten minutes.

So - are we playing 26 games, then ? Plus maybe the Bash. I'm not a huge fan of the Bash, but I can live with it if it gets us on TV once a year.

This just shows how weak the RFL are, four or five SL clubs being the tail that wags the dog.

In fairness, Norman, there was so much pressure to try this TwelvesandEights that we had to give it a run or we'd never have heard the end of it. In fact, all the predictions about its problems are now well understood.

Fully agree and I'm not proposing it, it's just what has been mentioned the SL clubs are looking at along with the 1 up 1 down.

But announcing the change at this point in the season is pathetic. All teams should know what the are playing for at the start of the season and that shouldn’t change, this is so unprofessional it’s beyond belief, well actually, no it isn’t.

I live RL and Fax but I have never seen agoverning body of a sport chop and change their league system like the RFL do. They are beholden to Sky and SL clubs. If they want this system they need to say it will start in 2020 so next season everyone knows what is happening.
All this sh#te started when sky took over. Yes I know we were one of the first in SL but then the RFL have tried to copy the Aussies because they see there system as being sooooo good. More money but make sure the lower league teams get a fair deal too so when it aimed to promotion or a play off they (we) can compete.

I was reading on the Bulls pages that some of their fans had thought they had blown their chance of getting promoted.... Until this change has come along. Forget Bulls they should be called cats, nine lives for sure. It will be good to be playing the Bulls again a real good local derb. And they have signed Webster from Cas. Middle 8s great if you qualify and get loads more money, but agree it's badly flawed and leaves behind the much hated Championship Shield.

But one up one down is not the answer. Last 3 seasons we've had runaway leaders which would have meant a dead rubber for the majority of teams as early as May. Why not the old style 5 team GF play off with the winner getting promoted, and the losing finalist in a million pound play off with 2nd bottom SL? Why oh why oh why oh why can't the RL see this as the more exciting workable option? I despair, I really do.

Don't worry, Norman. There are months to go before the start of next season. The structure will probably have changed a couple of times before then.

As usual, money is the problem. We didn't have enough to create a sufficiently good under competition for the top teams in Div 2 to challenge the bottom teams in Div 1. So we created this idea of giving a few teams in Div 2 a lot of money. Which created a huge split between the top four - plus two teams who were throwing money at winning promotion - and the rest, completely ruining Div 2.

Funnily enough, I've not seen the new money arrangements mentioned .....
