At last a win
Early July since we last tasted the winners feeling.
The two young lads in the centres totally changed the speed and pattern of the backline. Both can beat a man, have pace and can draw a man and pass. We actually squandered overlap chances a couple of times by cutting back inside after they had done their magic.
Brandon Moore was very impressive in his stints and is another good 'un in the making if we can keep hold of him.
Rawsthorne's kicking was immaculate from either touchlline and I hope Hull loan him back to us for next season.
Manu and Tangata add balance on either side of the pitch now.
Fairbank twisted over to score but then went straight off-hope that isn't a serious one as he whacked a few today -which is something we have been missing.
Pleasure to be one of the diehards today supporting the team who tackled really well throughout and deserved their plaudits at the end.
Still need to complete our sets and stop giving silly penalties away.
Onwards and upwards now hopefully.

Couldn't make it, but how did the old partnership of murrell and Johnston go?
Perhaps on paper not the classic pairing but they have always complemented each other, one a sharp line breaker and backing up threat, the other happy to steer things around the pitch. Wouldn't work in super league maybe, but seems to have always done ok by us at our level?
Gaz has by no means been bad this year, but has it worked? Does he need to be bossing a lower club with a big pack?

I listened to commentary, good job and well donr for that, and on that Jonno backed up Tangata for the last Ray I think it was, that's something we miss when he is at fullback.

For which after much thought I'd have to say on this occasion, not withstanding other fixtures, or other sides, in the context of our own interests, quite possibly it was Whitehaven as it was the team we were playing. Unless of course you are referring to the card school on the team coach? Of which I have no knowledge, although I should imagine they can manage more than a game of snap or knockout whist. Ya never can tell who the good card players are, unless your the Major in Fawlty Towers.

The objective should be to persuade folk down the Shay by getting floaters down here.

A rubbish local rag and to pay to know more about an average semi-pro RL team won't attract new fans.

I'll give Abbott his due. He did have a go at attracting new support, but with money tight in Halifax, even he found it a struggle.

The only "working class" I see at the Shay nowadays, tend to be Players & staff.
Following RL, especially at this level is plain unaffordable unless you have a decent pension or salary. Worryingly, a huge level of our support are retired and are not being replaced.

Rumour is over 600 free season passes were given out to local kids for this season.
Less than 10% of them are in use.
