Total waste of time and with the loss today costing the club even more money as we miss out on the one home game that would have generated any income. Ive always liked the saying that 2nd is just the 1st loser so playing to be the 5th best team I am really struggling to get enthused for it. Maybe I might if we got to the final but I see the season finishing similar to the one a couple of years ago where Dewsbury smashed us in the playoffs.

Aye, totally underwhelming.

If we win 2 we are in the final I think, but who knows, the RFL may move the goalposts yet.

If it follows the same format as last season, bottom 2 relegated with the top 4 playing off (1v4 and 2v3) before the final.

Makes sense for it to be held at the ground of the highest position team rather than a neutral venue, but Fev v London managed to muster a crowd of 4179 at Widnes last year. Maybe a few neutrals, but not a bad turnout at all.

If (and it's a pretty big "if"icon_wink.gif things go in line with league position, then a final against Bradford would be a decent day out - just because it's Bradford!

Time to blood some youngsters/reserves now, picking the best team on form (and not reputation/salary) when it comes to the playoffs. We miss out on the extra funding, but (to try and get some positives!) we should use the opportunity to build on the foundations we've being trying to lay with the reserve team. We need to start planning for next season now, with one eye on a tiny bit of success at the end of this one.

Is there any prize money for this championship shield

Trying to remain positive dispite the disappointing final three weeks . Yes we have lost out on a fair chunk of cash by not finishing in the top four but remember we more than exceeded our expectations last year and got three times the cash we thought we would get . I'm not sure how much we will get this year , someone told me approx £225k but taking last seasons £750k approx that's almost £1m in two seasons . I'm sure the BOD didnot expect that much - I know I didn't . Hopefully building blocks are in place , reserves etc , some loans paid off et al . Clever aquisatiions with more grunt up front so we can mount another challenge . But just to highlight something else - did anybody see that Leigh have announced another major signing ? Almost getting to be another league in our league with Leigh so far ahead of the rest - mind you if they don't get promoted this year or next will DB keep pouring his cash in ? I wonder !

It certainly has that same feeling.Yesterday felt like a last game of season with nothing to play for,so it that's the attitude it's season over for me.
