| Neither team really got going today and was a poor performance from both sides. Dont think you guys will have much to worry about later on in the year. You look a better team than bradford. Best of luck for the rest of the season

| Neither team look to have hit their straps yet though Leigh have only lost one and unfortunately 4 for us. Leigh just had that little bit of extra class and composure in that second half. Disappointing- let's hope things change for us soon in these big games.

Silverwood wants strapping and i would willingly do it! 10 points from forward passes gave the Gobbers the game. Victorian, Fax. Saltaire Cascade Pale Ale 4.0 % Mmm!

| Sports a funny old thing. Stokes gave everything that looked marginally forward against Batley and Silverwood seemed to have his own interpretation of Stevo's "momentum" rule (there didn't have to be any).
Switch the refs round and we "might" have won both.
These things do naturally even out over time, but it's still annoying when it happens.
We didn't play smart when we got to 12-4 up. We needed to make sure we played in their half for long periods, but some indiscipline and not respecting the ball cost us. Leigh stepped up half a gear and we didn't have enough in the tank to hold them. A couple of disappointing tries conceded given the quality of our defence for most of the game.

| Strange game, we won't have a better chance to beat Leigh. For whatever reason it's just not happening.
Not sure why Sharp and Fairbank were dropped.....Johno looked lost. Our goal line defence needs looking at.
Great to see Miles back.
Another game we could have easily won.....keep the faith.

| Leigh just couldn't seem to get going today. If Fax had a little more cutting edge in attack you would have been out of sight with the amount of possession and territory you had for the 1st hour of the match.
At 12 - 4 down with 20 to go I didn't think it was going to be our day but bringing Higham back on for the last 20 minutes finally seemed to spark us into life and luckily you weren't too far ahead.
Fax seemed to suffer with a problem Leigh have had a lot this season. Defence was great in decent territory and yet seemed to fall apart when defending your try line.

Think you will have to reassess that once you see the highlights Hudd Shay. Just watched all of our tries repeatedly and none of them are forward. The camera never lies

| Thought we played well for 60mins today. Johnston did not see enough of the ball no h/b stood out it was a game for the forwards all down the middle. We need some confidence sure we will get it next week against the amateur side. gareth hock complete a------e the game will be a lot better when he gets banned again or retires UTFAX

Pretty good assessment Nozzy and it fits the game well, in the first half Leigh looked whilst not bad just disjointed and that helped Fax with the possession and field position, at 12 - 4 we had a chance to get a hold of the game and needed to get another score but couldn't break the Leigh defence.
We gave away a few daft penalties again which got you nearer to our line and in the last 20 Leigh looked the stronger and we could't hold out.
No arguments about the result and it does ask the question if Fax can compete with the full time teams, so far we haven't been able to but there were better signs today.
On another point, I was sat about 5 rows behind DB and to his credit when the Fax team was announced as coming on the pitch both at the start of the game and the second half he put his hands together and gave a good long round of applause before standing to clap Leigh on, so fair play to the guy.

I wasn't sure about the calls for forward at the time, I thought there was a clear obstruction on your second try though. Might be wrong will have to wait for the highlights.

Ah, but it does though! That's why the video ref can't rule on forward passes.

My thoughts too.
We have had 3 tries ruled out this season for obstruction 2 of them were crucial ones against Batley and Sheffield that were both called incorrectly where as the early one against London was correct. They say these things even themselves up but if its another that has been called wrongly then we are doing it pretty tough.
As for the game again in the first half we need to post more points for our dominance but our attack was off once again. The 2nd half seemed to hinge on a few crucial things, we charged a ball down in mid field and they came up with it which is always a rule I think is daft because the attack get rewarded for a poor kick and the defence get punished as we did. Another was Ben Heaton stealing the ball and then in the play that followed looking around to see what Silverwood's decision was and having the ball knocked out of his grasp. He really should have wrapped that ball up. Another score at 12-4 would have killed the game but even at that we should be able to close a game out.

| I was a bit surprised how our forwards got on top when yours seemed to tire. We do have a stronger pack this season, but they are older, and we had to put in a very long tackling stint in the first half. Last season, we never bossed your forwards in any of the three meetings.
Given the quality on show, it was probably a disappointing game, with a shed load of errors. From our point of view, that is probably understanding, given that we still had six good backs unavailable (McNally, Tonga, Worthington, Armstrong, Chase and Brierley) and tried our SEVENTH half back pairing in six games.
I'm sure that one good win will turn things round for you - hopefully starting with Bradford!
Finally, it was great to see Miles Greenwood back on the pitch, after his horrendous injury. You wouldn't have believed how long he'd been out, judging by his excellent performance.

| We played some great stuff (again), but were undone by silly mistakes and an inability to close a game out (again).
It's becoming far too repetative to be put down to just one of those things. Not sure if it's players or coaching staff (or both) to blame, but we seem to be incapable of defending a lead. Teams are realising that as long as they keep within touching distance by the last quarter then they'll have every chance to nick the win. To nil a team in the first 40 then ship 26 points to them in the second 40 suggests something more than just bad luck.
We benefitted from being under the radar last season, this time out there's a greater expectancy from fans and opponents and we don't seem to be dealing with it very well. Marshall needs to get a hold of it while the others are still dropping points around us or we'll be fighting it out with Dewsbury to finish 7th. We all love the fact that he tries to play a better brand of rugby that Karl did, but we need that ability to shut a team down in the last quarter of a match.
