Is new coach. Three year deal

New coach of fax. I think this could be a very good choice. He has been on coaching staff at Warrington for 6 years and will have learned a lot of good things. Glad it's not one of the oldies like kear or nobby. Some one young with fresh ideas.

Time will tell, but I have a good feeling about this.

Welcome Richard. Imppressed in interviews lets hope he impresses in the Job. Sadly he will inherit a Team mostly from karls Players rather than being able to bring in many of his own choices. I hope us fans give him some time to change things and dont expect miracles or demand him sacked if we lose a game or two! Next year will be tough enough and we Need to start backing him rather than going against him. Is he the new saviour that will get us in to SL? No probably and People Need to realise that we are far away from that and it will take time to get even Close to that if at all.

Welcome Richard!! Warrington are one of my favourite Super League sides and are (nearly) always entertaining to watch (apart from when they play like they did against Widnes in the 1st 'alf last week). I hope he can bring back some of that entertaining and skillful play to the Shay and get this team firing on all cylinders again. I see in the Courier Sir Ian Croad mentions we have some players budget remaining so I hope Richard does the right thing and signs Ben Westwood and Michael Monaghan. Perhaps persuade Tony Smith to allow Ratchford to join us on a 7 season long loan? That guy is class!

welcome to the Club. Good to see the board have appointed a young coach. On the above 'Sadly he will inherit a Team mostly from karls Players' At the start of season we had a good squad on paper and should have performed better than we did and I think we agree it was down to the coaching and tactics not necessarily the ability of the players. Look how good the players were before coming to Fax and how they play after leaving us!

Anyway new era and looking forward to next season. Best go buy my season ticket....Oh I already have !

I agree, we looked to have a decent squad last season, and we did finish 3rd so hopefully a new coach and better gameplan and style of play we will do OK.

Being the only person in the world without Sky I can not comment on the merits of Richard.
All I can say is that we should all respect the boards decision and get behind the new coach as well as we did when Karl was appointed.
Hopefully this time it will turn out better.

Well would have been very easy for the board to appoint a Kear or a Noble but they have gone for a young fairly unknown coach in Richard Marshall which is brave as next year is a massive season.Very exciting really as we had a young coach in Matt Calland and we played some great stuff when he was in charge bit dodgy defensively but always confident of scoring some great tries.Lets all get behind the club now and fingers crossed could be a few good years ahead !! After the unrest of the past season or so, it is nice to hear the positive comments from the paying public. We are all diehard supporters, when we criticise the club it is generally through frustration. It is nice to see long term supporter Chris Smith talking positively about the future. We've been down on our collective knees, but like the saying goes, 'it's not getting knocked down, it's staying down." Well the sleeping giant of Halifax RLFC has finally woke up to the future.

Having given it a bit more thought it looks a very good appointment.

Richards CV is very impressive as is the way he comes across, a young coach but with a lot of experience at the highest levels both at club and national level, also across the full range from youth through to senior level which will give us some structure across the club.

The BOD have promised to put forth every effort to back him on the playing front and want him to play an exciting attacking style of game.

Very well done to all those involved, the feel good factor is back and I already can't wait for what is to come.
