Me and my brother were sat in the East Stand close to the corner of the South Stand when two of the Barrow ladies came and sat just behind us in the sun. Half way through the first half a fella came from the South with two pints and passed them to the ladies and we had a laugh with him. He said that he had got it all wrong and what was he doing waiting on the ladies at a game of RL and it should be the other way around. We joked that the only thing that he had got wrong was passing the beers to the women and not us. Mid way through the second half the same gentleman came back through with another two pints and handed them to us. We laughed and took the joke only to be told "no, they are for you". He turned back to his mates in the South Stand and a round of applause made his smile even bigger. Top man.
I took four kids with me today and at the end of the game they were looking for photo's and general chat with players. A Barrow lad was walking passed and posed for a photo with them when one of my lads cheekily asked him if he could have his shirt. The lad said that he had signed for Bradford next year and it was his last game for the club so wanted to keep his shirt, but took his boots off and gave him his socks. Top man.
Good luck next season Barrow. Great RL People'"
Couldn't agree more with this. Every time Barrow come to town they always bring a good few fans all there in the good spirit of the game. Today was no different, as I arrived at the shay I was greeted by a colourful crew departing the coach, joking around. Real good honest supporters enjoying a day out.
Today was a game in which the result had no significance for Barrow yet they still turned up in decent numbers to cheer their team on.
All the best for next season, based on the excellent performance today from such a young crop of players I'm sure it won't be long before Barrow are back in the championship.
