Indeed Phew. Not able to make it so I can't comment on what happened during the game. Thought we had lost it when it can up as 17-16 on the RFL live match feed. So glad we won and are now above Fev.
I'm sure the boys and girls who attended the game will fill us in on the ins and outs of the game. Bring on Fev!!

A win is a win at this point of the season. Beat Fev by more than 12pts next week & things look realistic for nabbing 2nd spot. They've got Sheffield the week after they play us too.

3 games left. 3 wins means that we get 2nd spot. 2 losses and we're probably fourth.

Just got back from a proper nail biter. NWC played with real purpose and will be disappointed they din't get the win. We gave too much ball away in the first half especially and goaline D was paper thin in first 20 mins. There was no lack of effort but we just didn't look at the races and Tyrer kicking the ball straight out at the start of the game summed up the half really. 2nd half was scrappy at best but that last 10 mins was massive for the teams mental attitude as for the first time this in ages the opposition didn't score and we did. Game changing tackle by Potts on what looked like a cert try and 2nd half fullback got smashed and ball spill just got the boys going. Distribution from ruck and out of hand needs plenty work on. Looks like mennel and Braceck rested. No place for Fox. Saxtion picked up a knock (and a sin bin). Crowd just over 700. So to the biggest game at the Shay for a long long time. Not sure my nerves can take much more of this!!!!

Just a win should see us home. That would put us 3 points infront with 2 to play so as long as we get a bonus point at the very least against Donny you can't see us losing to Barrow at home.

Yes it was very scrappy.
Didn't get there untill we were 10 down. Just saw our first points and remarked that I was glad I missed the first part and we were on our way now.
Often wrong as you all know and today was no exception.
I looked as though we didn't want to play let alone get 2nd place.
New South Wales Crusaders looked like the form team and we at time looked like a team accepting relegation.
(the elation from the team at our last score and at the end proved that they did care and did want that second place.
Felt sorry for Crusaders and in particular the lad in front of me all of 10 or little more with his team shirt on, he followed the whole game with the same emotions we had, I couldn't help but go to him at the end and offer him my hand, told him I was sorry I thought his team were better than us on the day and on that performance too good to go down. I told him to keep the faith because clubs like Crusaders, indeed all of us need to keep the.
young fans. Interesting report decision, should have been a free kick to us, in my humble opinion.
Anyway onward and upward, I said on the way out that if we play like that next week we won't beat Fev but, quite rightly someone said if Fev play like they did on Friday night they won't beat us.
Never dull at HRLFC that's for sure.

Well we kicked the ball out of play from the KO and I think that set the tone for the next twenty minutes. We were awful, almost as bad as the referee, and I thought Wales outplayed us and we were lucky to go in at H-T only ten points down. Credit where it's due though we kept them to a drop goal in the 2nd half and got the three points. Onto next week now and let's hope the real Fax turn up. Grove, shudds. Rooster's White Rose 4.0% Mmm!

Not the prettiest performance by any stretch but said before the game I would take a 1 point victory. Maybe the players had one eye on next week, maybe the oppo were very good, maybe the crap ref helped, whatever it was we still managed to win and put ourselves in the driving seat for 2nd spot.

Might be wrong often am, don't think the ref was the worst performer on the pitch.

Thought they were a bit naive going for a drop goal with so much time in the game remaining.
Tackling left a lot to be desired today but that was no easy task, Crusaders ran faster and harder than us and with a lot more enthusiasm and their offloads always seemed to stick which will give any team an advantage in any game playing like that.
Too much dropped ball on first tackle plays prevented us from sustaining any kind of pressure but fair play to the lads, they stuck to their task and prevailed in the end.
And a special mention for Pottsy getting across to stop a certain try, that's what happens when you celebrate too soon
I'll sleep better tonight for this result though

Well done boys icon_biggrin.gif Bring on t'rovers

Agreed, but he was up there. Was always going to be tough when he let the game be played at a snails pace. Not been biased because he was just poor in general, I mean our first try in the second half was blatant obstruction and Fieldhouse almost gave himself up. That said we were not brilliant but we had to win and thats what we did.

Not been Pott`s biggest fan this season but as we have seen last few games he offers a lot more than Fox and his never say die attitude for that try saver was superb, no other player at the club could have got back to stop that, getting there was one thing but been able to hold him up as well was truly a match winner that early in the game.

Phew that was draining to watch I was shattered at the end, we started badly with a mistake by kicking the ball too high into that gale and it blew into touch and we finished badly getting caught with the ball on the last play and messing up a play the ball gifting them the ball to have 2 sets of six to try win the game BUT we dug in and kept them out just and we did come back after being 10-0 and 16-6 down so well done for that but please get your rugby brains switched on next week lads please!

I think a mention should be made of the Crusaders fans. Rarely have we seen and heard supporters getting behind their team like they did yesterday. Well done to them, a good addition to the RL world. It is a pity they are going down, they have a good set up there. Sportsman shudds. Mallinsons Speckled Wood 4.3% Mmm!
