| Has anyone been to such a dump, odsal aside, of a professional rugby league ground? I think Alt Lane was better! I missed half of the game due to it's lack of facilities and am thinking of writing to the stadium owners to ask for a refund. What a way to treat paying customers, not to say us old concessions. The Swim Inn Sheffield, Milestone Brazilian 4.1% Mmm!

| Well I for one had a very good day down at Sheffield but I am glad I booked in for the meal and decided to stay and watch from inside due to the fact there was no seating facilities in the stadium . We had what was a very nice carvery of 3 differant meats , a yorkshire the size of a plate and umpteen veg`s to help yourself to for £11.95 .However nearly choked on my roast beef when I said to hubby " I can`t believe you taking a day off golf to go to an away match " .His reply " well thought I`d better make a special effort as it`s our wedding anniversary " crumbs I`d forgotten . I was even happier when my number was called out for the Golden Gamble and I was just accepting the £115 prize money when we scored another try straight after half time . So not a good day for Sheffield all round a couple of observations why do they have a duck for a mascot when they are called Eagles and where were all the Sheffield fans today last couple of years the team has done really well.

| My wife and I were the other Halifax fans in the restaurant (the bearded baseball cap wearing bloke you asked where to get the tickets from). I've got to say I really enjoyed the day out. The food and facilities were really good; however, it was pretty quiet in there (suppose the Sheffield fans didn't have a lot to cheer about) you lost a bit of the atmosphere. I managed to keep quiet for about 20 minutes, in fact the Mrs even commented on how restrained I was. Didn't last though. Got to say though I can see why Sheffield are having problems at home, the pitch is just too small and narrow (anybody else notice Karl pacing it the width as soon as the team arrived) for their style of play.

| Trouble with watching Sheffield wherever they play they only open half the ground "must be a tradition" could have had a decent view today from the terracing at the far side,At least they have managed to get somewhere to play within the city,Its a credit to Mark Aston and his staff that they have kept going so long on such poor gates, and at least we put a great performance together today!!

| Said that myself about the terracing on the far side. Would have been a much better view. I think it's definitely the worst venue for viewing I've been to, other than the infamous 4th round Challenge Cup game against Swinton Lions in 2010 at Sedgley Park.

| Poor view of the game today you are miles away with the dog track and speedway track around the pitch then all the obstacles that block your view like the finishing post for the greyhounds, rubbish really.
Sheffield would be better playing at the RU club I hear their facilities are better?
It has certainly hurt their game as they cannot use the big wide open spaces of Don Valley or Bramhall Lane but both were too big for the size of their crowds tbh

| Don Valley was far from a wide open space as far as the pitch is concerned.
Sheffield RU (in a similar vein to Sheffield FC) seem to be based quite a distance from the city centre.

You wouldn't like Sheffield RU - even if it was good enough. They're not really geared up for spectators. Mount St Mary's was better than Abbeydale.
My recommendation would be to book in for a carvery at Owlerton. Excellent value.
And it's Bramall Lane. Bramhall's down south in Cheshire.

Come on griff you admitted ages ago that your board are not interested in spectators, proffering corporate sponsorship. that's why you inconvenience us all with those silly Friday night games.

Exactly. It's a bit like coaching a team. Play to their strengths.
Owlerton's strength is its hospitality facilities.
Up to you, obviously, but see earlier posts. No complaints from people who did the hospitality.

So bu;;er the people who can't afford or want hospitality, which proves my point which you conceded to some while ago.
Seagulls do not value supporters.

Just pressing home a point I'd made myself, then, eh ?
We're hardly going to spend a boat-load of money on some stop-gap solution, are we ?
Is this about you moaning again or do you want to improve your day out ? I've made a suggestion - up to you whether or not you accept the advice. The folk who did had a nice day out.

| No idea. Never get time to eat at games.
And I don't know anyone who's been there for a meal.

| The terracing on the 'far side' is condemned and not safe, the SKY Cameraman had special dispensation (which will NOT be repeated apparently) to film from there.
Poor facilities especially when there is a facility in Rotherham that is maintained but not used, where Rotherham Utd once played (owned by The scrapyard people I understand).
