Got to say a well done to whoever it was who has done the improvements to the fencing along the Skircoat Road side of the Shay, was it some work experience organisation or somebody else in partnership with the Council I can't remember?
Anyway it looks much better.

I saw quite a few people on there a few weeks ago in calderdale collage tops working with council folk (I think).

Was funded by the round table charity i read (don't know why or who they are)
but it looks much better.

It looks great but as ever some has put graffiti on it.

The work has been organised, and much of it undertaken by the Halifax Rotary Club, who now meet at The Shay.
Financial support has been received from the Community Foundation for Calderdale.
Labour, and expertise, has come from Calderdale Council's staff based at Manor Heath and Shibden Park, the Community Pay back team, Calderdale College, Halifax Calder Rotary Club and volunteers from Barclays Bank and elsewhere (apologies to any I have overlooked).
There will be further plantings when the weather conditions are appropriate, intended to create an attractive gateway to Halifax.

It is a great effort and the s have now tagged the Pump Room, derelict as it maybe.

Pardon my language but it REALLY does annoy me.

Tagged? Calling it "tagging" almost adds some legitimacy to it, what it really is is mindless vandalism bordering on crimal damage. And the word "s" is putting it lightly.

With it been a council facility, couldn't those young chaps who wear the orange jackets and partake in community work on a Saturday morning do some bits to help out?
