If what he says is true, and I see no reason to challenge it, then he was very badly treated.

Charlie always liked Peter Roe , he seems a very articulate deep thinker , and loves the Game , how folk can say they don't like him is beyond me .

According to his lad he loves Halifax. I do not know where all this about him disliking Halifax comes from.........other than never really having a nice word to say about us.

I still remember him punching Chris Anderson. It was the first thing he did when he brought himself on in Ben Beavers testimonial game I think it was. I believe that was the first thing he did as a Halifax coach. Never liked him after that.

That day at Elland rd was funny Hunslet v Fax in the early 80's & he got sent off for starting on Mick O'Byrne, as they went down the tunnel, Mick told us afterwards that Roey asked him for his tooth back that was stuck in Mick's forehead, so Mick kindly attemted to replace it back into the gap it had left

HJ - That sort of treatment from clubs to their players went on all the time, i know loads of things that have gone on like the way Roey describes it, i'm not saying that's good practice BTW, hopefully that kind of behaviour is behind the sport nowadays.
