| See that Town have announced they are moving the home game against Stalybridge from The Shay to Spotland on 23rd February, blaming the dire state of the pitch, with too much sand, mud and loose matter on it.
Nicely worded 'dig' at the rugby club for arranging an unscheduled training session AND game against Melbourne Storm on the 17th!!!

Not even the most rabid Town "fans" could blame Fax, we have only had one game there this year.
But hang on, they will.

| I can understand them panicking about not getting all their home fixtures in to be honest, but let's face it they play a lot more home fixtures than the town's RL club in any given season & last season and this current season the pitch will be treat during the footy off-season so I don't see how they've got the nerve to complain if at all they have. I hope they kick on & get promotion too.

| To be fair to FC Halifax a large amount of their 800 fans are idiots anyway so we must rise above it and forgive them

| Glad and hope they play other games at Rochdale or Brighouse or Skircoat Moor. I couldnt give a monkeys about them or what they do to be honest. Main thing for me is Halifax RLFC. And Fax have payed for the use of the pitch whether it be a game or Training so we will use it! They can stop bitching about us training on it with Melbourne!
The Soccer club made a right mess of the drainage and the pitch years ago and its been getting worse each year. The council have set a timetable out to sort the pitch in summer. If they dont do it right then moan about the council. The soccer club and fans need to get in to the real world and stop blaming Fax and the Council for all their failures over the years. Frankly the Soccer club have found their level and have no chance of competing above it. They have budgetted for 1500 I read somewhere but are lucky to get over 1000 to games especially during midweek. Maybe the club should look to play more away games in January, February and March like Fax have done in the summer, when they know the pitch is likely to have problems with drainage.

| I think it was inevitable that the football club would have to move games away from The Shay, they're something like 10 games behind everyone else in their league, and most of the games they need to make up are home fixtures I believe.
The pitch at The Shay is never great, it gets dug up and reseeded every year more or less, looks good for a while then just falls away again. unless some serious money is put up to sort it once and for all, it'll keep on happening.
How much does an iPitch cost>

| There was quite a number of "TOWN" fans venting their anger via Twitter yesterday afternoon. My timeline was full of it when I was doing the score updates.

The pitch was very good one of the best around until about 2 years ago since when it has started to deteriorate, I guess due to the wetter than ever weather.
If the Council get the drainage sorted this summer we shall hopefully see a good pitch again.
Hope so.
Oh and it was that midweek match 3 weeks ago that Town played that really messed up the pitch, it has never recovered since, we have only played on it twice and both times were dry days.
