Well KH after watching todays events unfold you are going to have to tempt me with a quality Hooker and Half Back to renew the season ticket

I dont want anymore Forwards just ball playing link people. It was as clear as it ever will be today to everyone ,that work needs to be done on our 6/7/9/13 pivots. They were just all over the place. Some tried today some didnt and I dont need to name names, some were semi effective and some just plain not effective. I will also accept in mitigation some were playing with injuries.

When I wake up at xmas can I be happily surprised please to still be a Fax season ticket holder with renewed enthusiasm.

Northern rail cup winners, 3rd in the league, 60 points away at Featherstone, 60 points away at Sheffield... But hey, don't let any of that affect you making a knee jerk reaction.

Yet bar 1 or 2 games it has still been relatively unfulfilling to watch, i've often got bored during games something which i've never really found before

In the Calland days we were poor in defence but had a superb, extremely entertaining attack that could score for fun.

Now we are still poor in defence but without the attacking flair.

I too hope Karl has some signings lined up to change the middle triangle.

NRC Final apart, this hasn't been the greatest from a fan perspective. Most games we've either won at canter, scraped a win when we should have won at a canter, lost when we perhaps should have won (we're getting to the odd couple of good games now) and got soundly beat a couple of times (one of them today). Plus the odd highlight, .... errrm

I'm blue 'n' white through and through, but this hasn't been the best season to write home about.

For me today, getting the real basics wrong were the worst (like passing the ball - I think Penky's a fantastic player, but firing a bullet pass into Jim's face?!).

With less injuries, we may still have been in the playoffs (we threw away a couple of try-scoring opportunities in the first half, and at 16-12, the game could just have gone a different direction), but roll on 2013, and hopefully better style of play - more disciplined and organised in defence (especially in our own 20) and more inventiveness (or freedom?) in attack.

Today was dire, no doubt... But in my opinion the season has been a success. Cup winners and league contenders with what is in effect a brand new squad riddled with injuries. I look forward to renewing my season ticket no matter who is bought in or sold on.

Would be interested to hear why this season was worst than last.. A season that started without a league win for the first 6 games, included only 2 wins in the first 10 league games... A loss in the cup final... Scraping into the play-offs, scoring less points than 2012 and conceding a hell of a lot more..

What are you measuring your opinion on?

I have to admit - the biggest disappointment for me this season has been the defence. After the NRC win at Dewsbury early in the season, where our pack was so dominant and the defence was so tight, I thought we were in for a fantastic year, but some of the goal line defence since then has been woeful

Penky has been a fantastic player for the last few season, but it has been obvious since the NRC final that his heart has no longer been in it. After he fired the bullet pass into Jims' face today I thought it looked like Gannon was going to crack him!!! Thing is - he does it too often - mistimed bullet passes to players stood 2 yards away that have not got a hope in hell of catching them. Yes he can be devastating in broken field, running from a quick play the ball at a tiring defence, but there is more to the game than that.

At the end of the day it was Rhino's first season in charge, with a lot of new faces and a lot of disruption through injuries. I think the key to the consistency we desire is a settled side, with a small turnover of players each season. We have won the NRC and finished third in the league table - if someone would have told me that at the start of the season I would have taken it. Yes, it may not have been pretty at times and we may have got out of jail a few times as well - but - hey - this is Halifax RLFC we are talking about. When did we ever do it the easy way!!!

In the meantime, lets see who comes and goes. Lets back Karl and the board to do whats right for the club and sign players that [iWANT[/i to play for Halifax, and can help move the club forward on the pitch, whilst the backroom staff continue to take the club forward off the pitch.

Enjoy the off season folks - plenty of amateur games to go and watch if you get bored on a Saturday and need a RL fix, and lets all look forward to next season!!

No comparison between this and last season, won northern rail and only lost 4 league games all year, terrible look with injuries ment we never had 1st choice team on field

Ah yes, judge somebodies support of a club by the number of posts they have made on an internet message board! c020.gif
