Many congratulations to Halifax's own Paralympic gold medal winner Hannah Cockroft fantastic in the 100mts tonight. Hopefully she'll be making it a double win in her favoured 200mts race.
I know her family very well and know how much they've supported & devoted time, money & efforts into her sporting challenges and am chuffed to bits for all of them, her brother & dad can often be spotted at Halifax RLFC matches.

Hannah went into my lads school with all of her equipment shortly before the end of last term. Needless to say we've all been looking out for her over the last couple of days. We were all glued to the TV tonight hoping to cheer her on but in the end she didn't need much cheer. What an amazing performance.
It would be even more amazing for all of the children if she could take her Gold medal back into the school over the coming weeks/months. I bet she does.
Well done Hannah, congratulations to her, her family and everyone that knows her. Perhaps we could ask her to provide an inspirational speech to our boys prior to the Grand Final and maybe even be part of the day?

I was wrong. There will be one outside the town hall. I swear I read that they were concerned there would be too many post boxes so they decided not to do it. I guess they backed down!

There was quite a bit of pressure sent Royal Mail's way via twitter and the like to do the post boxes and stamps for the Paralympians, and it paid off.
Would be great if the club could invite her to a game at some point, perhaps in the playoffs or even early next season
