| Just been speaking to a good source who confirmed Barlow is heading to castleford on a 2 year contract.
I know Sam well and wish him all the best if true but why would he leave to go to a club in as poorer situation than us.
It is super leasgue but in a few years halifax will take their place.
Good luck to the guy who i think is our best forward by a distance....
Big Mick

| Get off the lads' back & stop £hit stirring. He's contracted to Halifax there are always other clubs trying to tap players up who are in top form. He doesn't look to me like a player who doesn't want to wear the blue & white hoops of Halifax RLFC.

If what you say is true, it's a two year contract and the current franchises run for two years.
What makes you wonder why he'd go from Halifax to Cas ?

| Sam has not signed anything with anyone and has not made any decision on his future. He loves Halifax as we all know and there is always the possibility that he will stay.

| Cant blame him if true. Good luck to him!
Do we really believe that we will get Cas' licence? Dream on folks! They only thing we have got over them is the stadium. The last 3 seasons of licencing have seen to that

| Whatever Sam decides all the best. He gives everything and is as passionate about the club as anybody on this board. But he has to look after himself and if a SL club comes in fair on him. Personally I think Cas would be a big mistake as they are going nowhere but the championship as the team is crap. The ground is still a lovely drawing on paper with nothing being done and the club are losing money and cant compete in SL. My opinion is a player might be best playing for Fax, Fev or Leigh getting regular winning pay and the chance of winning a medal- something they wont ever achieve at Cas, Salford, Hull KR, London etc

Come on Col you know full well that the majority of Barlow rumours are started by Barlow himself. Wonder if Phil Clarke can provide us with the statistics as to what percentage he starts.............

Well St.Helens run at a loss without Mcmanus and friends. Leeds make a profit but have stated they wont be going out and getting big name NRL players as they cant afford them compared to what NRL clubs can offer. Wigan make a profit. Wire are much like Shuddersfield and need Moran and co to survive though Moran is still pretty young compared to Davey for example. Hull was badly run though things allegedly will be better under Pearson. But the fact remains SL is nowhere near as strong as robust as SL RFL and big Nige like to make out. The Championship sees clubs not running up debts chasing a dream they cant live in and the comp is top notch with games unpredictable.

On second thought's you say you have heard it from a reliable source, but you also say you know "Sam well"
Ring him up and ask him then.
Let us know what he says.

| It has just been announced that Sam has signed a contract with the BBC for a series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Len Goodman was at Lawkholme Lane on Sunday and saw his "no try" dance. Said it was "Yorkshire Smooth".
Seveeeeeeeeeeeen.

| Lets face it some players go about their negotiations quietly and are glad to get an offer and quickly sign, for example the 3 lads this week and Penky year after year. Others like Sam when it comes to discussions like to hype interest to try and get a better deal, thats just the way it is. The lad has probably missed his chance in SL and would only get an offer from a bottom end SL team if there was an offer at all. If the offer does come he has to weigh up which one is going to earn him more money.
