| The cheerleaders will have plenty of junk in their trunk. This can be a plus or a minus

| My pick would have been Loughborough. I'd like to hear the argument behind picking Gloucestershire (my guess would be facilities as it seems an RFL obsession). What do they do about signing players as well? Can they have players that aren't students there and if not then surely that's a bit short sighted as there's only a finite player pool?
On one hand, a great idea to get some young blood in to the game (spectator-wise, hopefully they'll get a good following) but on the other I can only see them getting pasted week in, week out if they can only pick from the uni player pool. Added to that the "help" from Leeds that will undoubtedly mean their best players are nicked.

From what I've been told on Twitter, its not actually the Uni Team entering the league, its a Team/Club backed by the Uni, Apparently the closest model to it is the Leeds Carnegie RU set up. Leeds Met held a 51% stake in the club for a while en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leeds_Carnegie
There was also "Team Bath" in Soccer, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Team_Bath_F.C. but that reads like it was more of Uni Team
Its a strange move, they've already taken a risk with Northampton, a town who already have professional RU and Football Teams, and now going into Gloucester, another big RU area. And there's still talk of Bristol

Thanks for that, I did look on the RFL website for some useful information but didn't find any. There's some good detail in this story thoughhttps://www.thisisgloucestershire.co.uk/Golds-make-UK-history-bold-semi-pro/story-16041772-detail/story.htmlrl
Nobby is their consultant which won't be a bad thing!

| If they are students what happens when they push off home in May and don't come back until September?
It all makes sense though, Nobby's been down there a lot recently and the Uni team were invited up to the Rhinos Christmas do last year. They're not the best team in the Super 8's so will need to get an influx of playing talent, probably hoping some Yawnion players may turn up during the Summer, can't see it working out personally but that's the RFL for you.

There will be some student players but they'll be free to sign anyone. They're not going to be a pure uni team, more just flying under the uni banner.
