Apparently, SKY have turned down their option of broadcasting the Leigh v Leeds quarter final tie. I don't know the reasons behind this decision but it smacks of disrespect to the Championship club to me with the rumour that the Wigan v Saints game may be played at the LSV hence the Leigh game moving to the friday evening. This could ever only happen in rugby league....

| So Leigh not on tv at all? Is that how everyone else sees that? If so that's disgusting.
The only point of a championship club having a cup run is to earn money from tv rights/ big gate receipts.
How disgusting if Leigh have to move their tie in their own ground and lose tv revenue so an all super league tie can be shown!
It just gets better and better!

| Why is it disgusting? If wigan are paying for the use of lsv, why would lsv turn that money down. Leigh are after all, tenants. And sky have the right to show the game they feel will draw the greatest audience. They are not a charity. A pretty unfair slight given they opted out of showing all sl ties in previous 2 rounds.

| They will probably get more money by the tie not been on TV because some of Leeds fickle fans may actually travel now. Plus who wants to see their team flogged on TV? Its a different prospect to Fev where its a narrow mud bath sloping pitch that can even up the difference between the two divisions and they are the best team in the division, where a LSV is a wide open pretty much perfect pitch that will suit the SL team and probably lead to a big score.

| Wheres this 'narrow' idea come from??
Its an optical illusion because the pitch is not full length, the width is still 1 of the widest in the league!!
I'll agree it has a 'slight gradient' but it held up well on the mud front considering it was played after so much rain.

| The whole RFL arguing about venues and dates has been a farce but I dont agree that it will a big score with Leeds. Leigh on their day can play a great game, emember 12 months ago in the Cup we were written off when we played Catalans who were and are still a very good side and loosing 22-16 wasnt the beating that was predicted.
So come on all Championship sides support Leigh as we supported Fev against Wigan and if you had beaten us last week we would have supported you as as underdogs.
Proud to be a Leyther, stuff SKY as the atmosphere will be electric and personally I cant see London v Huddersfield being that exciting!!!!!

| Am hearing that Wigan aren't using the LSV now, they're going for two other consonants DW instead.

That's because the average Fev fan is a lot wider than all the other clubs. As they all like to stand behind the posts then the pitch has to be wide.
What's happened to Fevgrinder?

I last spotted him on the Leigh forum earlier this week where he mis-spelt my christian name by several letters, but had the decorum to apologise via PM.
Just for the record, I'd say he's not one of your average width Fev fans, much less. He sits in the family stand on that basis I believe
Top bloke though.

Thanks MM like the build up - can't wait for this game, am quiet because am a bit uneasy about it, I got that feeling that we are probably going to get beat, hope I'm wrong. I have been waiting to see what the bookies think, and hope RFF faith is well justified.
If you get to the game give me a bell would love to share a pint with you.

GFB,
I wasn't going to comment but since Halifaxjohn & MM have embarased me into replying on this thread I couldn't help my self but to post the the comments from Nathan Brown about the Fax pitch, see rlhererl.
The minimum length I believe is 88 metres, now I assume that Fev's ground is the minimum, 2 metres shorter that the Fax ground if Nathan's comments are correct (which I am not sure they are) and assuming the link rlhererl about the width at the shay is correct (again not sure that it is). This would mean the the Fev playing area is 88x68 (max RL width) and the fax playing area 90x64, which makes Fev's playing area 5984 metres square and Fax's 5760 metres square, which makes Fev's bigger so it should suit the Fax three quarters down to the ground (as it were)
In truth I still suspect that the Shay is bigger in total, but since I don't have a tape meassure at hand to prove either way the dimentions at the Shay am going to assume the above links to be correct
However at the end of the day it all makes no difference since it is 13 men against 13 men on the same rectangle of grass. And can't wait for our second encounter of the season, which is likely to be the second of five or six for the season.
However you are correct there is a slight slope on our pitch, just like the one I was fond of at Thrum Hall, never to be seen again which is a shame in truth.
PS Check your PMs
