| White at Fullback is a no no for me. He will be exposed big style when the season starts, he is too lightweight to be at fullback and is poor under the high ball. Get the lad back on the wing. Fieldhouse just needs to get his defensive position right as he usually does well coming into the line. I feel the lad got messed about last year at Centre, he clearly needs an extended stay at Fullback at this level to get his confidence up then we will see what he is really capable of IMO. Plus there`s the other kid Heaton.

| Not even close to a contest as far as I'm concerned, White just looks entirely uncomfortable at full back. Obviously Fieldhouse's Leigh East education is a big help for him as well.

| is was nice to see Rhino trying things out, which is what pre season is all about.
white is a winger, and scored 20 plus tries for us as a winger last year, he will be a winger this year, no doubt about it.
ryan fieldhouse for me is gonna get the no 1 shirt, however heaton is by all accounts handy himself at 1. would like to see him start at 1 vs Leigh. see what he can do.
Nanyn and tyrer in centres, and white and worrincy on the wings is nailed on (rob needs to give his head a wobble after boxing day though) reading his twitter, he knows he was naff.

| If Whitey ( or any other play as a matter of fact ) can't safely defuse a bomb in the full back position, how can he be expected to defuse them on the wing position, more than often within a couple of metres of defending the try line as is the modern way ?
I'm sorry, but if a side think someone has a weakness to their defence, their kicking will find the player out wherever he defends. In all honesty, I have nothing against the way Whitey plays for us, nobody deliberately drops a bomb or a pass, but I do feel that Worrincey & Rettie will be first pick wingers. Where White fits in is something else IMO but playing him as a full back will add to our second phase & support play with his lightning speed and he would have obvious value in the two wingers & full back quick play the balls returning from our own '22.
I don't mind discussing selections & positions but I don't wish to be critical of players directly.

cant see why Rhino would drop white from the wing, he was one of our top performers last year, and is a proven try scorer. Rettie is big, but for me is not a winger. dont get me wrong, he is a very handy player, but i dont see him in front of white for the no 2.
if anything it will be worrincy that will be watching his bck for the wing berth, and him and rettie are very similar players. in that they are both capable of making good yards and helping out the forwards.
we all know that Rhino will pick on performance, and how they go in training, which can only be good for the team, and player effort.

| Rettie and Worrincy are not similar players. Worrincy scored 25 tries last season, im not sure Rettie made double figures (similar I guess in terms of taking the ball in hard and getting quick plays but certainly not similar in the threat in attack!). Worrincy is still the best winger at the club, he should have had two tries the other day - White should have put him in the corner but was greedy and Nanyn should have picked the ball up instead of being lazy with his rubbish grubbers, that just slowed everyone down except the defender, and Rob would have been under the sticks. The knock on was a mind slip as im sure the understanding with White at fullback wasn't clicking so there was a bit of indicisiveness as to who was taking the ball, and he offloaded well in the tackle early on after diffusing a bomb under the pressure of 3 only for Whitey to knock on. Personally, he should have Tyrer as his centre.

| Don't forget about Paterson and Haley either. Both can play across the 3/4 line and I always thought Haley would make a useful full-back.
Fieldhouse is the front runner for me though. Worrincy has to play outside Tyrer too. Nanyn's defence is a bit err...iffy.

| Agreed, thought Worrincy was solid in defense (diffused the ball well under pressure twice and put in some good hits, just a slip when not under pressure!). He was let down in attack by Nanyn who failed to impress at all. Worrincy and Tyrer would absolutely tear it up, 40+ between them at least! Fieldhouse looked really comfortable at Full back and I liked Rettie on the other wing. For me would be them three as starters, even when everyone is fit and available. Great to have so much quality in depth across the whole field though!

| Sorry but Paul White is an absolute must on the wing for me, another 20+ try scorer who let's not forget was on fire last season. Rettie only scored 7 tries for a successful Batley last year. Squad player for me and a fit again Patts in the team before Nanyn for me. The fullback slot will be between Heaton and Fieldhouse and it's a tough call with Heaton regarded as one of the biggest prospects outside SL
