Not a Calland fan (and there are plenty others who think the same).
Out thought again by a very tactically aware coach.
As said in another post last nights weakened Fev side were nowt special but they had a plan and executed it well!
Lets hope things improve.
Did not get back from work till late and watched it on the box and SWMBO had to put up with my ranting in the second half!!

.................. and just because he won us the Championship doesn't make him impervious to criticism. I have never criticised Calland and the calls for his head soon disappeared when he brought the trophy back but he has it all to do again this season. At the moment we look a shadow of our 2010 self. Will he step up to the plate and re-draft the tactics for a very different team this year? I think he will. The players themselves have a lot to do to get up to speed with this current campaign. I still think we'll end up with a top four finish - probably in fourth. It's tough at the top and right now we're at the opposite end. We will prevail.

I dont think we got out thought at all. The momentum changed with two stupid penalties. We have never been good at stopping the opposition when they get momentum and Fev are the best in the league when they have it.

I admire Daryl Powell. The best British coach by a country mile. He'll be England head coach within 5 years. If Fev didn't have him, they'd be no-where

I agree, they've not really got any big names at all throughout the squad. Yet they just do everything right, not excellent, but right.

He tried recruiting the big names - like Harris, but that didn't work. He's astute, knows the game and is very analytical. The amount of prep that goes into a game from Ryan and Daryl is unbelieveable - considering where we have come from.
Yes I agree wholeheartedly, filling Daryl's absence would be far trickier than Briggsy or Zac etc.

I think he has to prove himself at Superleague before any talk of the England position. He didn't do much during his short spell at Leeds. Problem in this league is you don't know what teams are spending.

Its just a game , yes TGG , but a game in THE most competitive league in probably any sport , if you are not above 85/90 % of you potential , you might well lose
