Next Friday 28th January from 7 p.m. onwards, former player coach during the 1989/90 season, the Australian John Dorahy, will be in the South Stand bar at the Shay hoping to meet many old friends and also signing copies of his auto biography . It is called "Calm In The Cauldron. A Rugby League Journey" and is a warts and all account of a career that spanned both sides of the world and lasted for over thirty years.

There are supposed to be some interesting pieces in it about his time at Halifax so it should be an interesting read . He will be in the South Stand bar from 7-00pm till 9-00pm and would like as many Fax fans down as possible to have a chat about his old times at Fax.There is no charge for entry and it is a "drop in" event over the 2 hours so it does not matter if you cannot make the 7-00pm start.Hope to see you there.

Think i will have a wander down and pick up his book....are you up for it Inoffski?

i have read the book and can thoroughly recommend it,a good account of his rugby league life and a decent chapter on his time at fax which he states was blighted by money problems but he still gave us a great day out at the regal trophy final and one thing is for sure,you will never see a side from outside the top flight contest a major final again.

Will have to see Pete - got a hard earned day off work next Friday and promised the Boss we would have a day out

Just a reminder about John Dorahy at the South Stand bar on Fri just read some bits on Halifax in the book he mentions quite a bit about Jack Scrobie ,Mick Scott the Fairbank brothers and Roy Dickinson to name a few.
